Ask any college coach. His name will come up -

You can't know the character of every kid. You realize how difficult that is? I'd say he's done an AMAZING job of bringing in good people. If you disagree with that... And you call me blinded? -

I can't even begin to show you or anyone how wrong you are about how coaching at this level works. You can blame every little thing on him, no matter if it's his doing or not. But that is so incredibly dumb... It makes no sense to do that. You think everyone coming into college is a finished product? He doesn't take finished products. He takes guys that he is going to coach. It takes time to do that. Maybe it doesn't suit your fan needs but you'll just have to enjoy it. Go polish some teeth, or maybe read up on other programs/coaches. This stuff happens. Everywhere -

Lol greatness? You mean when Thomas grew up watching the Mike Davis era? I can tell you 100% he isn't coming here if Crean is gone. It is all about how he is going to be used. Here he gets a chance to develop skills. Not all programs are doing that... Crean is the best player development guy in America. That can be argued, but he's in the conversation. -

You have zero idea what has been done to take care of the problems in the program. There are maybe 3 coaches who are more known for running a ship tighter than Crean. Partially why he was hired and identified as such a great fit here. -

I'm speaking in general, what is likely the case. Why else would he be interested in IU other than the coaching staff? There's no other reason. -

Coaching a team isn't a linear process. You guys think it's all so simple. -

Crean should have known Devin Davis was going to jump in front of that car. Complete and total failure. NOT competent recruiting by any stretch! Fire his ass -

Did you watch his teams at Marquette? Or our team the last few years? Any jackoff can see that this teams defensive problems have zero to do with who the coach is. He has nothing to do with guys that don't have the pride to stay in front of someone. -

It takes a different amount of time for everyone to "get it." Just look at Duke's struggles on that end. Their defense was pretty damn good a couple years ago. He suddenly forgot how to coach defense? That makes sense to you guys? It will get better as the team gets older. It's all about communication and positioning. Young guys don't talk. And there sure as hell isn't any defensive positioning being taught to these guys at some of the schools they go to and definitely not in summer ball. -

You can meet a lot of people since Indiana is the hub for college basketball. -

Maybe because not every kid wants to come to Indiana. There are about 100 other places and they all know all of them. It's not anyone's dream to play here outside of a very small percentage of kids. -

If you think he can't coach defense, try attending a practice sometime. -

I'm talking about what is said privately. People in basketball know that the abuse he takes is ridiculous. -

You already know the future. Crean is a mediocre coach, despite everyone in college basketball saying the exact opposite! It's so rich. -

You don't have to know someone's intentions. There's isn't ANY kid today who makes their decision without the coaching staff being THE factor. -

Thon won't be eligible. Plus we all know he was laughing at Crean's adjustments yesterday. Doubling over at some of the substitutions. UOOB play calls? Thon saw IUs and knew he was headed for Lexington. Bryant clearly only visited because of Chuck Martin. He can't wait to come be IUs man in the middle and lead us to a title! (He wants to come here so he can go to the NBA, not any other superficial reason...) -
IU vs. MSU Postgame

It is possible to be completely frustrated with the state of the program, the play of the current team, and not want to fire the coach. Not sure if everyone realizes that it is possible. Not wanting to make a change does not mean one accepts the state of the program, or everyone's favorite buzzword "mediocrity." Show me who IU can realistically attract, and how long that individual gets to do xyz... That's what I want to know. Maybe there's a disciplinarian in your kids pee wee league. -

There is only one coach, maybe, you fire him for now. That coach isn't interested at the moment. It's really just beginning. I'm not against a change, but it sure would look weak. The names that IU is allegedly interested in: Smart, Bennett, Miller.. Are they really going to be that much of an upgrade? This team has played a horrible style of basketball since Purdue, and it is ridiculous. It's pathetic. But it isn't the norm under Crean if you have just look at his career. When guys go hard, it's sharp. This team hung on for a while, but they have leadership still developing and they don't have enough physical bodies. The point is, this cycle of firing coaches isn't a smart business to get into. Especially when there's little reason to get rid of the coach. Get a freakin backbone...If Indiana was anything close to a championship program, it would be reasonable to be outraged at the last two seasons. But don't forget where we were and where we have been very recently. Coaches are fired far too early in this day and age. This situation is different, too, since IU started over. And then started over again. Unfortunately 2013 class hasn't quite had the commitment of 2009... -

Disgusting. Still not worse than Doyell asking about job security in front of of his youngest kid. -

This is the team he wanted? Uh, don't think so. Vonleh, Devin Davis, Fischer. Not excuses, realities. The team has lost too many games they should have won, could have won with a decent effort on defense, late in the year. But overall, this team performed to its capabilities for the most part. The credit can't always go to "talent." As Izzo said, there are so many things people just don't know about... Is the difference between 8th and 2nd really all that much? The B1G is down as you stated. Plus it's win the league or bust right? If Stevens were available at the moment, that would be a different conversation. I don't think IU will fire him yet, but I could see him leaving. -

I can't see a scenario where Bryant would come here no matter the coach. He's interested in us because Crean coached Cody Zeller, not because IU is a historic program.
