B1G Players Declaring for the Draft/Graduating
Bryan Medema replied to Bryan Medema's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Concerned that he might fall out entirely if he continues to wait? He's been good but not overly impressive and I've seen questions on his overall ceiling. -
B1G Players Declaring for the Draft/Graduating

I'm wondering where the incentive for McGary is to stay. He'll likely get drafted if he goes now and, while he can improve his stock, he risks tanking it or losing it entirely with another injury, even a minor one. I'll be (un)pleasently surprised if he doesn't declare. -

I coached a 8 and Under Swimmers for a while and a Little 500 team...the children worked way harder than the riders!

CCGeneral, any word on where IU stands in all of this? Primarily, have we even entered ourselves into the race? -
B1G Players Declaring for the Draft/Graduating
Bryan Medema replied to Bryan Medema's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I only included officially declared players. While Stauskas, McGary, and Robinson have all put in inquiries, none have declared. That seems to be the typical story for the time being. We still have roughly 2 weeks (if I'm not mistaken) until players have to formally declare. -
No mention of us (obviously) but definitely interesting to see how next year is projecting. Ah, I just meant that regarding the phoenomena that is everyone liking UK/UoL and Alabama

Oh, are you in the Army too?

As a Hoosier trapped in Kentucky (Thanks Obama/Army) I find it amusing how many people here don't see any reason for him to leave a University that isn't even located in a state. I actually had someone try to convince me that the media market here can match NY or LA. That being said, I don't see Cal leaving for anything less than one of those markets. If the coaches of either of those two teams get kicked the curb, it would make for an offer he'd have a hard time refusing. Cal doesn't seem like the type to stew in the misery that is Kentucky when the misery of the big city awaits. I know I've added almost nothing the conversation besides venom in the direction of the nations worst commonwealth (even if it does make the final four by default) but I thought I could provide some insight from someone on the wrong side of (any) border.

(2014) SF Josh Cunningham to Bradley

So, Josh Cunningham? -
Wrong forum for this, but to answer your question, watch the UK players fail to comprehend a simple word during the post game presser.

When does the challenge schedule come out?
-
Based on what we know about our schedule next year and the teams listed, IU will have every opportunity to prove itself a program worthy of respect or one in need of change. The games against SMU, Louisville, and our ACC/B1G challenge game specifically can have a make or break effect on us. If we can manage to take 2 of those 3, we set ourselves up nicely for the rest of the season. The B1G will be a gauntlet, but that's nothing new. Add in the rumored overseas trip against another major conference opponent and we've got our work cut out. It's like CTC thinks he has something to prove.

Hurryin Hoosiers will be back and that's a positive!

I think the foreign trips, while useful for recruiting, can be detrimental, especially for a young team. That article had some quality insight on the leadership problem though. -

Don't count out CTC coaching for his life. This is where we find out what he's made of and I expect him to adapt and conquer. -

Indiana Rivals predicts us to finish 9th next season
Bryan Medema replied to NotTheReal HoosierHoopster's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
While I understand the overall depth and talent of the B1G, I find that low of a finish difficult to anticipate. Looking at what our team should have next year, it's no stretch to say that our back-court has the potential to not only be one of the more loaded groups in the B1G, but the country at large (although, that should go without saying). Yogi has shown the ability and potential to be the nations top PG. Further, while he's shown an aptitude for scoring (through slashing and his jump shot) it's evident that Yogi is, at heart, a drive and kick PG. With the addition of JB2, a pure shooter, Yogi will have ample opportunites to kick the ball out to an open teammate who can actually score. Robert Johnson fills a similar role, albeit at a slightly lower level, giving a reliable second option off the bench. The flashes of gritty brilliance displayed by Stan over the course of the seasons should only get better with an offseason of work alongside Yogi. Williams just seems to be a player on the precipise of stardom. Between those 5 players, IU has more than enough talent to finish higher than 9th. While our defense will be suspect, our increased scoring output and a long, long offseason of work should greatly help the team. I also wouldn't count out Crean, who's likely coaching for his very life (well, job). A man with his back to the wall is dangerous. I'm with a lot of other people on here, I see us between 3-5 in a very, very tight B1G. -
No intention to.

I just felt it was a joke that would resonate with the Chicken Littles on this board.

So both you and Tom crean then.
