The actual sport money that's distributed is that much but from working at UNC and Duke I can tell the amount of money the university receives from donors is enormous. Plus merchandise sales are through the roof. Even property values go up because of many more students wanting to come here (sad part about it in my opinion).

There is good news through this loss. Two sides with different philosophies of playing and I think come tournament time we benefit in the end. Despite the horrible reffing Coach Woodson is not sacrificing his philosophy in terms of his offensive and defensive plays he runs. His style of play plays well come tournament time. I think what we run now will open things up and as long as we put the “effort” a lot of lanes and a lot of easy buckets will come. He get’s it in this particular area of the game. Northwestern is interesting. Collins has decided to conform to how other programs in the big ten play (Wisconsin, Michigan State, Etc). Will make the tournament but like typical big ten teams, they play their style and find it hard to suddenly change or adjust on a dime. You can get away with it with lower seeded teams but when you play a good team that will typically bite them. The whole big ten philosophy needs to change.

Coach Williams is a crappy coach who was successful only because who had a slew of McDonald all Americans. Coach K is legit but if he was in the big ten you bet you’re bottom dollar he wouldn’t let the conference allow such horrible officiating.

Seriously dude. The conference hasn’t won a natty since 2000. Sheesh wake up.

One off year… really. Why did they get the players? We had good coaches in the big ten. Money and bad conference that typically doesn’t allow the players to play.

You’re obviously stuck on one mentality and afraid to diverge from it. I agree about Bates but it was bad tonight and you just need to wake up to be honest.

It’s not always about effort man sometimes you get hosed. More often than not it’s about effort but this is exception to a norm. It was by far the worst reffed game I’ve seen this season. I gotta wake up at 5 so I’m going to bed.

The laws of physics are apparently suspended for that one play.

Penn State was different. We didn’t try that game and deserved what came to us. This one the Northwestern players were playing hack a TJD and nothing got called. Completely stymied any chance in this game.

I’m an IU undergrad and graduate. But let’s be honest with ourselves. They win more national championships.

Accepting it doesn’t help at all. Maybe try writing the big ten. I work for the ACC and quite honestly I’m getting tired of being laughed at as a conference. Rightfully so because time and time again we see this crap and come tournament time real refs destroy all of our teams for actual fouls.

Give me a break you pick and choose plays but the bad reffing was a constant. First half and second bad.

Honestly by people just saying we control what we can control… you’re kind permitting this bad officiating to happen again. I agree like in the Penn State game that was all on us but this one is so egregiously bad that it really did determine the outcome.

But we could’nt control that. They were straight up hacking arms in the first half. Tough to even build tempo or composure when you don’t even get a chance.

The refs didn’t call a bunch of fouls in the first half. Completely stymied us and those technical fouls. Give me a break.

I hate to say it because it’s sounds like excuse making but the refs actually gave NW the game.

This is why the big ten can’t have nice things. What a disgrace.
