  1. Abdur-Rahim was a Crean assistant at UGA
  2. But did they eat their vitamins and say their prayers?
  3. I’d guess low. His buyout at Michigan hasn’t been released yet. But why take the Michigan job if you want to go to IU in a year? He doesn’t seem to be that type of guy to me.
  4. Thats where I’m at too. Definitely open to him as a possibility, especially if he backs up his first year at USF.
  5. Evidently John Beilein helped the Michigan AD identify 4 candidates: Dusty May, Darian DeVries, Niko Medved, and Amir Abdur-Rahim. All mid- major guys with success. If IU has a similar list next year I bet it’s Abdur-Rahim. He was at Kennesaw State when a certain IU president used to work there. He led them to their first D1 winning record in program history. Hit the ground running in year 1 at South Florida, 25-8 (including post season) and won the AAC regular season. If he backs that up next year, he is our mid major guy imo. edit: Also beat FAU and Florida State in year 1.
  6. Seems like a perfect match to me.
  7. https://www.mgoblog.com/content/hello-dusty-may#read-more For the Dusty May fans, might not want to read. Rather good read and breakdown. Honestly makes you wonder what the hell the IU Administration is thinking. SMH.
  8. I thought Holtmann said he didn’t want to be in a fishbowl like IU. DePaul might be the best place for him.
  9. We are a Marquette house, unless they play IU. Then it’s a house divided. But I like Shaka and will be pulling for them the rest of the way. Oh and everyone who plays Purdue.
  10. Welcome to the transfer portal era
  11. Never met him but my wife has. Her opinion is he is very smart and can navigate the politics of IU. Which leads me to believe he has a plan and is likely waiting until he can move on that plan. No inside scoop there just a guess.
  12. Yeah I get it. I just don’t relate to that type of thinking. Never have and never will. Nepotism is never the correct way to run an organization.
  13. So you’re saying Cal could have us in the top 20 5 times in a decade? When was the last time IU had that? Sign me up. lol
  14. I’d take Shaka for sure. Not sure he will leave Marquette though. I can see him there for the rest of his career.
  15. Im 42 and his playing days means absolutely zero to me. This might seem harsh but even players I do remember playing I wish them well in their lives but that’s the extent of it. I wouldn’t hire them for a job just bc they played for IU. And I wouldn’t hesitate to fire someone just because they played for IU.
  16. Ironically it’s a black eye to keep him. They actually have their logic backwards.
  17. Its who I would have my eyes on as a mid major option for IU in a year or 2 if there isn’t a power 5 coach ready to come.
  18. How many of FAU’s squad has eligibility left and BigTen quality?
  19. I always forget about him. on that note Wade, Pearl, Beard are the only proven coaches that are poachable off the top of my head.
  20. Yes. Guard play is still an issue for Purdue imo.
  21. Dude got a knee so hard I felt it. Sympathy pain. Oof.
  22. I’m fine missing on May, not sold on him being the answer. Wanting a more proven coach like Pearl. Problem is those coaches are few and far between. Next year is going to be interesting. Honestly feel the best outcome now is we land a quality portal class and have a good year next year.
  23. Michigan reporter tweeted out May chose Michigan over Louisville.
  24. Maybe the NIL. Acceptance process is what it is and isn’t changing. They haven’t changed it for football, they won’t change it for basketball. It’s been a sore spot for fans for years.
  25. Pearl to Louisville? Lol
