Not that hard. What is hard is trying to land a pure specialist who doesn’t upgrade you in any other way against the backdrop of a roster of 4-5 guards who don’t do that specialty as well but everything else better resulting in a muddled path to playing time. His path at Nebraska is crystal clear. -

Struggling to see the fit here. Actually, that's a lie. Don't see the fit at all. -
And what do these previous 6 stops in 6 years have in common? He hasn’t won anywhere. KU deserves what’s coming.

Been in a foul mood all day. So, courtesy of divine providence what hit’s my feed this afternoon but probably my favorite live tv performance ever. So primal and kinetic. The no bull$hit spirit of rock and roll. God, I’d love to see these guys do this live. That they don’t have a live album is a crime.

In this current period of everyone looking for older kids, Quaintance is gonna a very interesting case to follow. He may be really physically gifted, but that kid is crazy young. He’ll player his entire freshman year as a 17 year old. When he hits a campus this June he’ll still be 16. I’m not clear on what expectations should be for him.

That would make sense. Given how hard the staff was on him in HS I’ll be surprised if they don’t at least inquire. Watched several of his EYBL games when they were recruiting him and didn’t like him nearly as much as the staff. He can really shoot it and he could score in bunches. But he was a textbook tweener. Struggled defending size and didn’t move well enough to stay in front of a decent wing scorer. Not sure the B1G style is the fit here.

That sounds perfectly correct. If Carlyle’s in fact coming Essegian becomes your 7th scholarship guard. As a niche guy, and if you’re gonna have a niche skill he’s got the best one, what’s his best case scenario, maybe 12 mins? And within his range of outcomes there’s a perfectly reasonable one where he barely plays. I’m not sure I see the appeal for him in comparison to I’m sure more certain opportunities. -
Never been a big fan, but he’s gonna have a strong list.

I don’t think he’s visited anywhere except NC St. Could be wrong. -
Game Thread: IUFB Spring Game | 8pm on BTN
Demo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Never seen a spring football game. What’s the structure? Is there an actual game format or is it a series of situational vignettes? 1v1’s, 2v2’s and so on or subbing in and out? I need education here. -
RIP to the great Dickey Betts. This one hurts.

Hey, if I had an IUBB commitment video I would have probably watched it most every day of my life, or at least until my Betamax broke. -

I think about 99% of these videos have been fantastic. This one feels a touch cheesy. But, hey, if Bryson likes it what do I care? -

Yup. And 4 months with Marshall would certainly impact his strength and explosiveness. My concern would be, and there’s no way to know this from highlight reels, does he mentally process at the speed you need? A lot of otherwise good players don’t. Banks didn’t. If they think he does then he makes a lot of sense. If you’re not sure, that’s a tougher call. -

What a fascinating career that guy’s having. His stat line is so weird and yet he’s a winning player. -

Don’t remember for sure where I heard it, might of been a YouTube video that was trailing him that I saw,, but I believe he said himself that it was originally diagnosed as a meniscus tear, but there turned out to be more to it. Made it sound like the procedure he had 3-4 months ago was not that big a deal and was precautionary though he wasn’t specific. -

Can’t imagine he would. He’s gonna get starter’s minutes somewhere. -

I would agree that a healthy Newton probably has the highest ceiling, particularly defensively, though Rice seems to be more instinctive and Carlyle has more of a scoring mentality. But they didn’t play travel ball together. Newton played UA, Carlyle played EYBL and I think, could be wrong, that Rice played 3SSB. -
I’m not sure how I’d rank guys with all the factors at play, but if you told me I had to pick a coach for a team without having any idea what the roster construction looked like, I’d take Underwood and wouldn’t even consider anyone else. That guy has won with such wildly different rosters and schemes that it’s almost tough to believe.

Haven’t seen this posted yet. An actual highlight reel of Malone. Obviously it’s highlights, but there’s some instructive stuff. Best thing here for me, by far, are his hands. He doesn’t fight the ball in any way, even in traffic. That’s very nice. Also looks to have pretty decent feet in tight quarters That’ll play. Not explosive, but given his big frame and how soft he is right now Marshall could do him some serious good in about 90 days. Don’t love the stroke, but he takes it confidently so I assume it goes in. Hard to tell much past that, but at 1st blush he doesn’t look like he would be out of place on a high major roster, though speed of play might take some time. But in a limited viewing I’m not opposed to the idea. -
He is a Guy. Love him. There’s video of a presser from when Kennesaw St made the tournament of the guy choking up talking about everything his kids had done to resurrect that program and, hell, I would have run through a wall for him. Some smart power conference AD is gonna hook that guy up and not have to worry about it again for 25 years.

I'd like to see the staff stay on this one. He's gonna be more than just a catch and shoot guy. The athleticism looks like its gonna come and there's some pre-Montverde McNeeley to him.

This is a fun one. Had an IU offer under Archie. It appears IU is the only offer he’s never gonna accept.
