2026 General Recruiting Thread (Bball)

His name is Gavin Lightning? Outstanding. Also, love me the multi-sport kids. -
This doesn't feel that hot take-y to me at all. I think he's better than Hanner because he's better laterally, he's got pretty good defensive instincts, he's got good enough hands and he really competes. Think his defense will play all day. But I don't see him becoming any more than a rim runner/finisher on offense. Hadn't thought of Biyombo, but that's about right. And, hey, that guy's hung around the League forever and made a bunch of money. If Bidunga does that, that's a freaking win.

(2026) - PG Taylen Kinney

Would bet a fair amount that Kinney eventually ends up at some Prep somewhere. Hopefully it’s 1 of the ones we like. -
(2025)- Trent Sisley to INDIANA
Demo replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
What an insular recruitment this has been. With the exception of Iowa I can’t think of another school other than those 4 that’s been even mentioned with him. -
Teams in the mid to late lottery that pass on Collier will regret it. His vision and processing will play miles better with better players and once he dials back some of the aggression, and he will, that kid will be a 10-year starter.

Will be really interested to see how Jordan Smith develops. Great athlete with some skill projectability, but he’s 3 or 4 years ahead of his class, physically. If you watched a Paul VI game last year and didn’t know which kid was a Soph there was no way you were landing on him. -
Will never ever understand how that Morgan tip doesn’t go in.

I can’t get over the narrative that just keeps growing here. They just lost maybe the most dominant college player of recent vintage, but, hey, there’s always another one. No, there’s not. The next kid is way, way more likely to be Haas or Haarms than Edey. And that would be fine, they were good college players. But Edey is singular. Ya ain’t replacin’ him.

(2025) - G Acaden Lewis to Villanova
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Has had a huge spring. Was also 1 of THE guys at Pangos. Played with Maryland commit and IU offeree Caleb Williams at Sidwell and the games I watched Lewis was the 1 who popped. This feels pretty late, but I assume Kenya’s been communicating for a while and they think he’s open. Or maybe they’re anticipating he’s a spring decision. -
And don’t forget they brought in Dug McDaniel, though I imagine K-State’s academics are a little different animal than UM’s.
-
Speechless. Nice player, but I would think if you’re gonna reset the market it would be for a guy who’s good enough to be the best player on a NC contending team and Hawkins just flat isn’t.

(2025) - PG Jalen Haralson to Notre Dame
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
We’ll see how it goes. My view here is apparently different than most. I think he’s incredibly important in the Derik Queen/Maryland vein that if you want to make a statement that you’re the big dog in your neck of the woods there are guys you can’t miss on. Sisley and Mullins would be terrific gets, no question, particularly Sisley since Painter has gone all in there, but I just think Haralson’s different. He’s a big name nationally with a huge list and him popping for IU tells the rest of the country, “You’re not taking our studs anymore.”. That, and I think he’s a hell of a player. -
https://x.com/HoosiersConnect/status/1801284265084146084 Ok, I’ll probably have to watch this. The idea of someone as stoic as Yarden getting kicked out of a game is too funny.

2 things here: 1) Keep that picture of Rice in your mind and look at him again in 90 days. Not gonna look like the same kid. 2) Saw the kid with the football and thought, hey, why’s there a football player there, before realizing it was Jakai. Physically, he is just different.

67 shots in 2 games. Kiyan must’ve had to ice that shooting elbow.

Man, the women’s rowing team is an academic monster. Who knew?

That kid is in fire. The biggest names this spring, by a mile, are Mullins and Cenac. -

If you believe in the kid his talent in this draft is lottery level all day. If you’re not sold where does the talent outweigh the question? Fair to say Derek Lively has probably made Ware some money.

https://n.rivals.com/prospect_rankings/rivals150/2025?position=ALL POSITIONS Latest Rivals 150 update for ‘25. Huge jumps for Mullins and Moreno. Small jump for Ament into the top 10 and Sisley back into the top 70. Huge dip for Tyler Jackson. -
(2025) - PF Caleb WILSON to North Carolina
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
The talent is obvious, but Wilson spooks me a little for a couple of tangible reasons and 1 intangible one: 1) He doesn't play through physicality. When he gets banged around he floats to the perimeter every time. That's not an issue in a lot systems, but I don't love it in Woody's or in this conference. 2) He really wants to be facilitator, which is an admirable quality, but he's not particularly good at it. I like him way better as a finisher. 3) His Mom is, uh, interesting. She's not Gibbs-Lawhorn's Mom, who's absolutely a problem, but when I was following Wilson a little more closely when he was a Soph, she went off in pretty over-the-top fashion on Twitter on a couple of fairly innocuous and incredibly mild posts about the kid. That obviously doesn't reflect directly on him, but I'd have to get comfortable with that one if I was the staff. -

https://thetournament.com/tbt/butler-regional-tickets/ And Hova’s right, it’s a little wacky. The seating is reserved by row, but not by seat. -

Starting to think along those lines as well. Is this thing really reserved seating? That never crossed my mind. -
Probably on Rushmore of the most important guys in the history of the NBA. RIP
