(2025) - SF Nate Ament to Tennessee
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
2 things: 1) Ament laid that stat line on DeMatha. How the mighty have fallen. 2) The Hughes shootout games are apparently played in 10 minute running quarters. So the kid dropped 41/27 with a 40 min running clock. That is nuts. -
https://x.com/kenpomeroy/status/1803887790750601691 Pomeroy’s a smart guy, but this is a REALLY bad take. The increased D-1 teams doesn’t consist of schools that are getting at large bids.Rewarding more marginal power conference teams, which is all you’d be doing, doesn’t make the Tournament any better at all.

2024 General Recruiting Thread (BBall)

Absolutely. Gonna have all the misery and inconvenience with zero benefit other than a free college education. Watched an interview with him once. Seems like a really nice kid who would have been just as happy being the freakishly tall sax player in the marching band. -

https://x.com/TheMopLady/status/1803622798306214315 The answer to Martha’s question here is that Rioux can’t play. At all. Can’t run. Can’t change direction. Can’t bend his knees. Can’’t drop his weight. And the game is way too fast for him. But, damn, is he tall. Saw him at Nationals and never seen anything like him. He doesn’t look real. He was close to 6’ tall while sitting in a chair. -
Congrats to Jalen Haralson. That is 1 long freakin’ roster. Mandaquit’s a small kid. Smith and Cayden Boozer are both physical, athletic 6’4” kids. The rest are all 6’6” to 6’10” super switchable parts. They are gonna physically overwhelm some teams pretty badly.

(2025) - SG Davis Fogle
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Hard to get real excited about this one short-term since they’ve clearly prioritized Mullins and if Fogle walked on to campus and wanted to commit they probably don’t take it. But he is a really fun player to watch . -
https://x.com/wojespn/status/1803418412036587744 There’s no way you make that deal unless you know you he’ll re-sign, but it’s still great to hear.

(2026) - Anthony Thompson

Is visiting Bloomington right now, per Schumann. Had not heard anything about that. -
Wonder where they’ll send him on his mission?
-
Interesting, but we’re completely good with the 5-Star committed QB flirting with us? Hypocrisy, thy name is CFB recruiting.

Am I the only 1 who finds it hilarious that the legendary IU PG number 11 has now been worn with pride by Isiah Thomas, Yogi Ferrell and …..Oumar Ballo? Woody apparently planning to go REALLY big this year.

Montonati and Rippey are both finalists for the U17 National team. Pretty impressive for rising juniors. -

His name is Gavin Lightning? Outstanding. Also, love me the multi-sport kids. -
This doesn't feel that hot take-y to me at all. I think he's better than Hanner because he's better laterally, he's got pretty good defensive instincts, he's got good enough hands and he really competes. Think his defense will play all day. But I don't see him becoming any more than a rim runner/finisher on offense. Hadn't thought of Biyombo, but that's about right. And, hey, that guy's hung around the League forever and made a bunch of money. If Bidunga does that, that's a freaking win.

(2026) - PG Taylen Kinney
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Would bet a fair amount that Kinney eventually ends up at some Prep somewhere. Hopefully it’s 1 of the ones we like. -
(2025)- Trent Sisley to INDIANA
Demo replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
What an insular recruitment this has been. With the exception of Iowa I can’t think of another school other than those 4 that’s been even mentioned with him. -
Teams in the mid to late lottery that pass on Collier will regret it. His vision and processing will play miles better with better players and once he dials back some of the aggression, and he will, that kid will be a 10-year starter.

Will be really interested to see how Jordan Smith develops. Great athlete with some skill projectability, but he’s 3 or 4 years ahead of his class, physically. If you watched a Paul VI game last year and didn’t know which kid was a Soph there was no way you were landing on him. -
Will never ever understand how that Morgan tip doesn’t go in.

I can’t get over the narrative that just keeps growing here. They just lost maybe the most dominant college player of recent vintage, but, hey, there’s always another one. No, there’s not. The next kid is way, way more likely to be Haas or Haarms than Edey. And that would be fine, they were good college players. But Edey is singular. Ya ain’t replacin’ him.

(2025) - G Acaden Lewis to Villanova
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Has had a huge spring. Was also 1 of THE guys at Pangos. Played with Maryland commit and IU offeree Caleb Williams at Sidwell and the games I watched Lewis was the 1 who popped. This feels pretty late, but I assume Kenya’s been communicating for a while and they think he’s open. Or maybe they’re anticipating he’s a spring decision. -
And don’t forget they brought in Dug McDaniel, though I imagine K-State’s academics are a little different animal than UM’s.
