2025 General Recruiting Thread (BBall)
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Rankest speculation imaginable, but there is a fair amount of banter that ‘25 5-star PF Niko Bundalo might be re-opening his recruitment. At Prolific Prep now but is originally from some little town in Ohio. IU was never in on him and from all indications he’s a little bit of a different kid and some schools got in and then got out. But athletic 6’10” stretch 4’s don’t grow on trees and given the program’s success with short, late recruitments, may be at least worth paying a little attention to. -
(2025) - C Fridrik Leo Curtis to Nebraska
Demo replied to Demo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
On 6 mins of viewing, pretty decent frame, runs ok, hands and feet look like they can play, doesn’t shy from contact, has some present skill, that jumper brings rain. Has some obvious projectability. So, there’s that.Game looks like it would be really fast for him just now. Side note: Don’t know if I’ve ever heard an announcer getting that excited calling a game for about 20 people. Love it. -
I’d love to see ESPN really utilize him heavily in the studio. Those little 1 minute analyses of plays in multiple games going on simultaneously, I think he’s great at that stuff.
-
2 things here: 1)That is really good news with Hatton. I still think he’s strictly a niche guy by conference season, but if he’s good enough to give them legit positive minutes in foul situations or should Ballo or Reneau miss a couple of games, that’s so good. 2) If Galloway and Newton can go 15–18 hard minutes in a scrimmage now they’re good to go. I don’t care if they play Sunday.
-
Yeah, I don’t remember having much of a jet lag problem when I was 21. But it is a little bit cold-blooded of the League to give the west coast teams de facto 9am kickoffs.
-
No surprise here because: 1) Abdur-Rahim was on Crean’s Georgia staff, and 2) Crean is just that guy.

Very well stated

My Lord. How awful. 43 years old.

Cig’s been gold so far. I have faith. -
IUFB vs Washington - Saturday, 10.26.24 - ESPN College Game Day

Not sure actual IUFB boards are any more respectful than that. The cat looking at the IU-Neb score is outstanding. -
(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)
Demo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
If it’s not IU I really need it to not be Colorado. Seems like a great kid and I don’t want to actively cheer against him but the roots of my Prime loathing are pushing 40 years deep now. Maybe my all-time least favorite guy in sports. -
He didn’t, I assume for 1 of 2 reasons: 1) He didn’t want to bust on a 19yo kid who already catches enough stuff, or 2) the show producer was in his ear telling him to please just get back to the game that’s actually coming up.

Flipped on TNT’s BOS-NYK pregame last night just in time to hear Kenny Smith go on a rant about how anyone who thinks Bronny James isn’t an NBA player right now doesn’t know ball and then said he was one of the 5 best guards in HS bball his senior year, which is objectively insane. I like that show as much as anyone but every now and then, I swear to God.

(2025)-PF Bryson Tiller to Kansas
Demo replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Big fan of Tiller because he’s a pretty switchable defender, his offense will play in any system and he doesn’t need shots to help you. But this has always felt like a really tough pull. Have thought Auburn the whole time, but if Ga Tech makes it happen good for Damon. -
Maybe Trey McKenney.
-
Part of it for sure. Another may have been that his path always seemed sort of set. Early on the perception of him was that he was a virtually done deal to Mich St, to the point that a lot of schools seemed to stop working him. Then the Ignite thing happened and that was definitely the end because there was just no history of kids bailing on Ignite and going to school. If Kenya stayed in his ear that entire time when others didn’t, good for him.

B10 Basketball Recruiting Thread
Demo replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Trilly just dropped an Izzo GIF. I assume it’s for Cam Ward. That’s fine. Keep those DMV kids away from Maryland. -
For those interested, John Fanta, Fox’s Big East guy, was in Bloomington for practice today and has several observations in his feed. Nothing super noteworthy except, maybe, more validation that Tucker is outplaying most of our expectations.
-
I do not care how this is calculated. It’s too funny not to just sort of bask in.

De'Ron Davis - Achilleas Kaimakli of Cyprus

De’Ron looks great. Good for that dude. -
(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)
Demo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Seemed like a better fit timing-wise than Nebraska since he doesn’t play next weekend. -
In Dusty May’s Michigan debut they beat a really well-coached Oakland team by 44 and hit 15 3’s. sigh

(2025) DL Kyler Garcia to Indiana
Demo replied to Lebowski's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
https://x.com/iamkylergarcia/status/1847796243646599351 Funny what beating the absolute mess out of a few teams does for the recruiting mindset. -
Big 12 officials doing a giant solid for Iowa St against UCF. Gives them a what would’ve been a marginal PI call even if the throw didn’t land 20 ft out of bounds and then flat missed a false start on the go ahead TD.

Can’t get over it. How can a school with their resources and that panache and coming off a Natty not have a guy who can pay at least a little? It’s not like someone got hurt. Texas’ 3rd string QB last year is now at Duke playing pretty well and Michigan doesn’t even have 1.
