The only thing that would genuinely worry me about the environment is Roarke being kind of over-hyped up early and maybe missing a couple of throws high and high throws get picked. Past that, these kids will eat that environment up. What actually worries me is OSU being disciplined enough to just run it about 50 times and controlling the ball for 40 mins and sort of bludgeoning them up front.

My memory is such trash now. I have to go out with a note pinned to my chest. -

This is the game referenced in the article above. Rated #26 by Rivals. Unrated elsewhere. Played travel ball last summer for Mac Irvin Fire on the EYBL circuit. -
The player that a fair % of Colts fans tell me Richardson is going to be I think the Norris kid from South Carolina may actually be. Every game that kid just makes dynamic plays and he’s improving at an absurd rate. He did a complete number on Mizzou today.

Anyone care to do the math on how wrong this comp is?
-
That whole thing was perverse. I love boxing but you couldn’t pay me to watch an old man get beat up by a roided up kid.
-
If you’re doubling his salary and giving him the world after 1 year, the buyout to fire him would be predictably huge, but the buyout for him to walk has gotta be astronomical. Like Jimbo Fisher-level astronomical. I imagine he’s effectively unpoachable.
-
Ok, I need someone to explain this to me: I’ve always understood a retention bonus to be a 1-time shot to incentivize re-upping. Even got an adorably small 1 myself a hundred years ago. But how is an annual retention bonus not just de facto salary? What purpose does that serve?
-
Per Rittenhouse the new deal more than doubles Cig’s salary. That would put him over 8 mil, which if you believe On3 puts him in Lanning/James Franklin territory. Honestly, I’m not sure that’s not a bit of a discount.
-
Can’t imagine the “negotiation” consisted of much more than Dolson handing Cig’s agent a pre-signed contract with maybe 10 blanks and saying, “Yeah, just fill those in and get it back to me.” Dude had more leverage than anyone in the entire history of leverage.

3 years ago Nova-UVA would have been destination viewing. How the mighty have fallen. These teams are bad bad. Would imagine Neptune is dead man walking barring something miraculous.

IU 78 SC 67 -
Like OSU a lot. They can shoot it, they've got rim protection and it wouldn't shock me at all if Thornton ends up CPOY. Love that kid.

Yup, it also doesn't distinguish between the travel team and the post-grad team. So sometimes you get them and sometimes you don't. -
So, is money in these cases guaranteed? If Underwood gets there and is meh does UM get to re-negotiate? That’s mostly sarcasm, but I am curious what happens to a college player that underperforms his deal.
-
Hey, you gamblin’ folk around here: isn’t home field usually a field goal? If that’s the deal is this suggesting that IU-Penn St on a neutral field would be a pick’em game?
-
Interesting question because it probably ties to what an org is looking for. I love the kid, think he’s great. Have no problem seeing him as an 18/8 and 4-5 assts with a couple of blocks and steals and a DPOY candidate every year who brings it every night. To me that’s a #1 all day. But if they’re looking for a 25 pt alpha scorer or an offensive fulcrum, maybe/maybe not. Maybe Bailey makes more sense in that scenario or even Harper, though I’d take Flagg over Harper 7 days out of 7. What would’ve been really fun to watch is if Dybantsa was in this draft. That kid might be a 30pt guy, but he doesn’t do anything else as well and he doesn’t always bring it. That would make a really interesting study in priorities.

Yup, and 98 of those pages would be blaming Woodson and a lot of MSU fans seem to think it’s Izzo. Nope, this one is not a coaching issue.

https://x.com/ESPNCFB/status/1856400948152688918 Oh look, the IU grad absolutely making the argument for a 3 loss SEC team getting in. I’m telling ya, I don’t care where they’re ranked tonight, if IU loses to OSU they’re not getting in.

https://x.com/joejacksonCBB/status/1856150739812253917 A Purdue problem this year in microcosm. This guy says Loyer is “getting his own shot.” This is literally a miscommunication on the screen that Loyer turned into a contested 6 footer that he made. He’s not beating any decent defender off his bounce. They are really gonna struggle this year against solid ball pressure.
-
Because Izzo/MSU are still the biggest name brand in a top 4 conference despite the fact that you’re right. And even though Purdue has far surpassed them, I really enjoy that even in the midst of the greatest run in their history little brother is still nothing but a regional brand. They’ll never be more.

Now, see, when I applied to join the FMW Posse I put this exact thing on my app and was rejected because, “your animus score did not meet our standards.” Did that happen to you as well or was I singled out?
-
Really looking forward to Duke-UK tonight. Maybe Duke wins that game on shear talent, but they are in for a harsh lesson in communication trying to guard that offense. Can’t lie, it really annoys me to like the coach at UK.

A literally 50yo action. Love it. Pre-3pt days the initial screener didn’t fade to the line, he broke weak and screened for the corner who either went baseline or to the mid-paint. A lot of layups built from that set.
