Trae Young with 25pts and 10 assists. NW has nothing for him. Incredible player. The Steph Curry comps are completely legit.

(2018) DB Noah Pierre to IU
Demo replied to TXHoosierDaddy's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Not to sound too hyperbolic, but after watching several of his Hudl vids, I can't really think of any 170lb DB's that are more violent than this kid. Just a total banger. Glad to have him. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Demo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah. But when Alpha and his Apostles hit campus all he'll need to do is roll the ball out about 40 times or so and they''ll be Final Four-bound. -
(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA

We might as well just create a generic ___________ offered. Kid's gonna be offered by everyone. -
Everything about that deal was a mess. The foul call that got him the 1st T was just awful. And, yes, he should have shut up on the 2nd one, but he was leaving the court and not talking to anyone in particular. The T didn't calm the situation, it escalated it. Hopefully a teachable moment for him. I had a pretty good angle out the gym door from my seat and he was out there pacing and sort of ranting to himself for several minutes afterwards. I think he knew he'd made a mistake, but it was a little odd. And don't I remember both CAM and his HS coach talk about what a quiet kid he is? From the moment that kid walked into the gym until they walked him out, he never shut up.
-
That seems exactly right. He'll be a good player at that level.

Little bigger. Listed at 6'10", probably 6''9". Made a couple of jump hooks over his right shoulder through contact. Competed. Ran hard. Struggled a little bit laterally. But that might not be fair, he was defending 6'5" guys who were better athletes.
-
Nice player. Mid-major guy I would think. Played hard and was physical. Was getting crap from a fan under the basket and every time he scored on that end he would look at the guy and smile. I like him.

Agree with most of the assessments on here. Couple of things: The 2 late 3’s Anderson hit were awesome shot-making. Heavily contested, must make, catch and shoot 3’s with his team down. He isn’t Jay Edwards, but that was Edwards-like. How much better would we be this year with a legit shot maker? Hunter didn’t have a great game, and his demeanor is definitely odd, but there isn’t a single quality you could possibly want that he didn’t flash. His ceiling might be higher than anyone there not named Langford. Brooks-Damn. I would really like some feedback from people who have seen him a lot and fill in some blanks. What I saw: Listed at 6’9”. No way. Had 2 inches on Langford, so 6’7”. Maybe 185. Not sure how much weight he can add. He’s not under developed, just has a really, really narrow frame. No lower body strength. Was pushed off the block by every New Albany kid he tried to post. Every one. Exceptional run/jump athlete. Blocked a Langford drive that was just rare. But otherwise wasn’t much of a factor inside, despite being the tallest, most explosive kid on the floor. Shot needs work. Every jumper was different. Turned down a couple of straight line drives and settled for jumpers that he missed. North got down early, and it looked like he shut it down a little. Looked to me like a talented developmental kid. But a must have, elite recruit? Didn’t see it at all, I was expecting to see sort of a Kris Wilkes type. He is nowhere close to Kris Wilkes. Oh, and I’m not sure we’re not underrating Romeo. He makes incredibly difficult plays look so routine. Amazing player. May be a touch sac religious, but I would take him over Eric Gordon.

I’ll probably post more on this, but, short version, if I didn’t know that Brooks was supposed to be a Guy, I would say that he isn’t one. I don’t know if he’s sick or hurt, or just passive and weak. TJD looks miles better to me.
-
Anderson and Hunter were at center court as captains. If Anderson is actually 6’6”, Hunter is 6’8” all day, maybe more. Easily 2+ inches difference.
-
Not like we didn’t already know it, but TJD is just an exceptional prospect. His timing as a shot locker is the best i’ve seen in a long time.

5-6 from 3. Only miss was heavily contested. Release on his shot is extremely low, off the top of his forehead, and also very little lift. Needs stuff run for him to get a look. But he really knows how to play. If athleticism improves with age, he is a definite maybe. Certainly worth following.

Sitting near the HSE players. One of them must play with Galloway in the summer. His exact words to a teammate: “Dude makes everything.”

What you call “dedication” my wife calls “deeply stupid.” You’re both right.

Any chance of a sellout? I'm driving over from St Louis, but probably can't get there before halftime of the LN game.

Would love for this to be true. Have seen him a ton and Ramey's really, really good. Never stops attacking the rim. Makes the correct pass and in the correct way. And he's so long and has such good instincts that he will eventually be a great, not good, defender. Would be a perfect complement for a player like Langford. I mean, perfect.

Bama may be #4, maybe not. But I would have bet my house on them getting in. Their history, which should not matter, has, I believe, created a subconscious favorable bias for them. They get a mulligan nobody else gets. They don't have a good win all year, not 1. And I don't want to hear about LSU. Danny freaking Etling. They weren't picked over 1 Conference champ, they were picked over 2. A 2 loss Bama with a conference championship will get in every year. I also believe that if you flipped Bama's resume with Georgia's, Bama would have been seeded 1st and Georgia wouldn't have gotten in. I'm not saying it's intentional, I don't believe it is. I just believe it's conditioned.

Agree on the Illinois defense. McIntosh made bad decision after bad decision. Like he'd never seen ball side help before.

Couple of things: 1) The Mike Davis rule of coaching hires: If you're looking at someone that no other school at your level is looking at, you better strongly consider the possibility that you're the one that's wrong. There are exceptions, but I'm confident that there are more failures than successes if you're the outlier. CTA wasn't getting a sniff of a power conference job anytime soon. 2) That being said, unless the program goes utterly sideways, I believe a Coach should be given a full 5 year recruiting rotation to fully establish his culture. Love the dude's energy and passion. He needs to be given a full chance to succeed. 3) Man, I hope Brohm gets the UT job. That guy is too good for Purdue, even if it's only 1 more year. He needs to be somewhere else now.

That young man man is going to do some great things. Thank you Rashard.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Demo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm with you, hard for me to see this as clean. Just seems so blatant. But the other part I struggle with is this: wouldn't a shady recruitment fly in the face of absolutely everything we're told about the Langford's? The folks with local knowledge unanimously extoll the virtues of these people. Have they fooled everyone? Maybe. I hope it's friendship. -

Not sure this really offers much insight, but it was an interesting conversation. So fwiw: Ran into a semi-friend who has been part of the Bradley Beal Elite/St Louis Hawks coaching program for years. Talked some about Garland. He thinks Garland will always be a bit of a tease because, while gifted, he's not a tough or super competitive kid Said the teams that knocked him on his @$$ the first couple of times he went to the rim didn't have to worry about doing it again because he'd stop coming. Anyway, I mentioned the situation with Shittu and RL and that there is chatter in IU circles that Garland is pulling this together by force of personality. Terry literally laughed out loud. His almost exact words, "Damn, that's funny. Gonna have to tell some people that one." Said that he's a good kid, but very much one of the boys. Oh, and the BBE coaches REALLY don't like Winston. 2 things: 1) Really glad we got Phinisee, who strikes me as both a tough kid and a leader. 2) I'm not going to lose one moment's sleep over whether we get 6 months of Langford. -
Would love to know what kind of “process” UT used to land on a guy like Schiano. Screams desperation hire, but why would they be desperate at this point? Based on what I saw of him this year, they need to take a swing at Jeff Brohm. The guy’s gonna be a star, and soon. Get him while you can.
