Wow, they chose to push pace and, look, an open 3. -

You cannot keep conceding that switch. Penn St is straight hunting Goode for Baldwin and IU is fine with playing into it. And Goode’s been abused over and over. -

Of course it hit the rim, but by all means take all the ebb and flow out of the game. I swear. -

If he was watching MSU-Maryland’s 1st half he may have forgotten what good offense looks like. -
Nope. You were never keeping him.

In fairness to Moser, OU seems to have an NIL problem. Lost 3 starters to transfer off last year’s team. He supposedly sniffed around the DePaul job a little bit. Think about that for a minute.
-
If that scenario plays out Stevens doesn't want the job.
-
They had it right the 1st time. I know I'm supposed to just give in to the dramatic license, but that season always grinds on me because, 1) Vinick as they wrote him could have never been nominated and, 2) If he was nominated he would have won in a complete blowout. I apologize for feeding into the derailment, but you hit me in a sore spot. So, who do we think the next HC is gonna be?
-
Gonna predict right now Oats name will be all over the UT job until Bama announces that 7/84 extension.
-
Can’t imagine he wouldn’t. Man, if UT moves on from Terry that job is gonna get some guys paid. Every agent in the country will get their guy’s name attached to that job.

K-State. Coached by Jerome Tang who was a long-time Asst for…….Scott Drew. Hmmmm

Deepest conference I’ve ever seen. Georgia’s got a couple of no doubt pro’s and they’re, what, 12th or so in the conference? That’s nuts.
-
I’m completely down with him going for every dime he can get, but wanting fewer years feels like the tell here.
-
Wow, you ain’t getting this level of service anywhere else!

Yup, part of what the made the Woody thing so infuriating is the resources being so good. For all the Brownell derision, that guy would do fine here. Unquestionably an upgrade. But, man, if you get the right guy he is set up to be a God.
-
Can’t lie, thought he would do very well there. His Utah St teams were some of the most fun watches in the country. Curious why that didn’t work.

If I can call him Wolfie I’m totally down.

Dolson’s a smart guy and with basically a year to prep I find it impossible to believe that the plan is a guy who ain’t comin’, a guy who ain’t comin’ and a guy who probably ain’t comin’. Sure, take the big swings if you need to, but then get into your actual process and nail down your guy. And it’s gonna take a minute. The downside of Woody not making it to the end of the year is the giant information vacuum that we’re going to spend the next 6-8 weeks filling with our angst and insanity. But they’ll get a good dude. They will. Not concerned about the size of the name.

Alex Barlow is the lottery ticket hire for those who think Ben McCollum is too safe.

What I wouldn't give if Ol' John was on to something.....

That's really interesting. The 1 thing I would've bet they'd do is draw. What the hell else is there to do in Waco in January?

With Drew's name surfacing, it lends itself to sort of an interesting hypothetical, at least to me. Old Fart asked in a separate conversation a while back whether given his age and his history it was reasonable to assume that even if Stevens came that he would stay long term. Wouldn't it be entirely possible, if not likely, that after a few years of getting coaching out of his system he wouldn't take an ownership stake in some NBA team and go run it? Or go do something else, he's a talented guy. So here's my question: if you had the choice would you take 4-5 years of Stevens and then you're looking again or 10-12 years of a guy like Scott Drew? It's not a very interesting question if you're comping someone like Brownell. but Drew's a top 10 coach in CBB by pretty much any standard. Do people around here consider Stevens so good that you'd be willing to take him on a shorter term basis over an elite CBB coach?
-
That strikes me as a pretty solid take with 2 important exceptions: 1) I do not believe they have an appropriate appreciation for the difference in assets. Drew had to ask for NIL enhancement last year, something he would never, ever, have to do at Indiana. 2) The slightly snarky take at the end regarding the enthusiasm of the fan base is actually something Drew, who understands it, would very likely appreciate. The difference between being a legend at Baylor and at Indiana is the difference between shooting a bullet and throwing it.

Kind of tough to see it, but if it’s possible the timing would certainly make sense. He’ll lose Edgecombe for sure. He’ll lose Roach and Ormier. He’s only got a 1 man class right now, even if the kid is really good. So it’s not like he’d be leaving a no doubt NC contender.
