Well, going to a historically bad program in a better conference is quite the roll of the dice. What am I missing here?

(2025) - PG Jalen Haralson to Notre Dame
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
None. They're writing a big check and from all indications Shrewsberry promised him the keys to the car. I really like Haralson a lot, but he flat wants to be a PG and I don't really think that's the fit. -
If Cronin’s able to pay Dent someone needs to punch him dead in the throat the next time he whines about resources.
-
Oh yeah. Hardest of hard no’s. Quite the list, Turner and a bunch of retreads. If I were them I’d call Eric Olen and make him a stronga$$ offer. What that guy’s done at San Diego is pretty amazing.
-
Huh
-
I tend to forget how young he is. Pretty sure he hit campus for summer workouts last year at 17.
-
Without knowing his criteria this strikes as not terrible. Would say Nova’s too high at this point, probably way too high. I’m also not at all convinced that KU is gonna thrive in this new reality.
-
Yeah, given the circumstances here you could argue that he’s de facto transferring without having to move his crap.
-
Close, maybe a head nod rather than a full bow. And, yeah, kid’s gotta be looking now and thinking new HC, open system, massive available minutes and that that has to, at minimum, be giving him pause.
-
Anyone predicting Tucker as the last man standing needs to take a bow.

There you go with your damned reasonableness again. -
Braylon Mullins (2025) SG - to UConn
Demo replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
2 things: A) Pretty tough to see him bailing on a LOI with Dan Hurley, but DeVries being able to walk in and offer: 1) the chance to go where he really wanted to be, 2) being a cornerstone of rebuilding the IUBB legend and becoming one himself in the process, and, 3) minutes and shots until his tongue’s dragging the ground, and 4) having way more money, makes for a pretty compelling argument. B) God, how brutal an indictment of Woody would a Mullins flip be? If DeVries with no previous relationship with him can pull that off, yeah he looks like a hero for good reason, but that’s basically the kid saying “I’d have stayed home for anyone but that guy.” That would be one giant F you. -
Those are from the WVU podcast I posted yesterday. DeVries’ Mom doesn’t love him as much as those guys do.
-
Can’t imagine he would have returned under any circumstances but I’d guess that during his exit interview he was not given that option.

https://x.com/btucker610/status/1905042097583063317 Tucker’s dad posting videos of Bryson from workouts. Curious timing.
-
Never crossed my mind that he’d hang, but he’s a really smart kid and he and his people may be looking at this thing in terms of a clean slate and a bunch of available minutes. I’m really not a fan but it would absolutely be interesting to see him with better coaching and a more open system.
-
Another West Virginia insiders podcast. This is a good one. These guys love DeVries and this is incredibly encouraging.
-
Forgot all about him. Pretty decent chance Creighton’s still playing if he’s healthy.

Will be interesting to see how this goes. Thought 1 of the interesting things about Dolson’s search was their attempt to quantify and distinguish building a program and sort of inheriting one. Hodge was at UNT with McCasland as an Asst so he had a hand in building that thing. But those are very different roles and by the time he actually took it over that deal was rolling pretty good.
-
Harris story: Saw him in HS at a showcase event. Got undercut on a fast break and took a nasty fall on his back. Thought the kid was really hurt. Down for several minutes. Took him to the locker room, wasn’t walking well at all. Came back out to the bench walking a little better and proceeded to flat wear his coach out trying to get back in the game. Coach finally gave in and that kid competed his a$$ off at about 70%. Long way of saying, yeah, kid’s a dawg and I’d take him in a second.

https://x.com/PeteThamel/status/1904582169546125361 So is this how this works now? I know Luck is an unusual example but I’ve always assumed college GM’s worked for the HC and not vice versa.
-
Saw that. 6 years. So I imagine he’s lead recruiter no matter where he is. Strictly wishcasting here, but a guy like that and Murphy on staff would probably be fairly nuts from a recruiting perspective.
-
I think Rabby is just doing some rudimentary connect the dots with Moikobu. He only coached with DeVries for 1 year and then went to North Texas with McCasland and followed him to TT. Before that he was at Grand Canyon. But, man, everywhere that guy has gone has gotten way better, really fast.

watching how hard it was for them to score I imagine every kid Pitino brings in will be a better shooter than the guy they’re replacing. Sanon’s certainly a better shooter than Richmond.
