I imagine this is pretty close. Guessing that watching Mgbako the 1st 20 games or so standing around in the weak corner and the ball never finding him and the offense running fewer actions for him than for Kopp didn’t exactly turn him on. Pity, because he’s gonna be a really useful PnR facilitator.

If the stuff out there that Woody never communicated with the kid is accurate, I’m confident that also played a part. The kid talked non-stop about relationships during his recruitment. Zero percent chance it had anything to do with the fans. Zero. Was probably the most beloved recruit by the fan base since Langford and he ate it up.

I haven’t seen a single Oregon St game this year. But, Thornton, love him. Most competitive kid on the floor in every game he plays in.

Given the kid dropped 25 or whatever it was in AH it’s probably fair to assume that’s already occurred.

Harvard has 2 kids that would be really interesting portal options, unfortunately this is neither of them, at least for IU.

Mike Woodson to return as coach next season

How about Duke? Jon Scheyer's had 1 for 2 years. Danny Hurley's got 1, too. -

The range of emotional outcomes here is still pretty wide. If they beat MSU and get 1 in the B1G tournament so they finish the year winning 5 of 6 and end up 19-14, that excites no one, but it manages to skirt trainwreck status and gives you a little something to build on going forward, though I’m sure there are those who will disagree. But if you get run out of the place Sunday and lose game 1 in the tournament, so you’re 17-16 and losing a 1st rd draft pick, yeah, that would be inarguably gross going into portal season. -

Yeah, that stuff’s only funny after you win. -
This is just flat out strong. Major kudos.

I’m sure he’ll go through the pre-draft process, and he should, but I kinda think he plays another year. I just really hope it’s here. -

Absolutely. Maybe retention priority 1 at this point. He is this close to being a big problem. -

I don’t think Minny’s terrible, but they’ve been terrible tonight. Doesn’t matter. Conference road wins are always good. -

Yeah, Minny has been godawful. If IU had been just a little more solid this would be a stone beating. -

So, which IU guy needing a gig is gonna get that job? -
If I haven’t mentioned it lately, your damned reasonableness and nuance is really annoying sometimes. We need some smoking vitriol from you and it’s time to step up to the pump!

I genuinely don’t know what the long-term vision is. Even if you bite on the high end of the best case scenario, you keep the kids you want to keep, you hit on some useful portal pieces, you finish top 5 in the B1G, you get seeded in the 8-9 range and you win a game, you’re still going forward with a 67 yo HC with no succession plan and with nothing that could laughably be called momentum. And of the range of outcomes that is incredibly optomistic. I just don’t know what to say to that. Side note: poll question: the over/under on canned Assistants is 1 1/2. Anybody on the under?

Welcome Mike, good to have you. Of all the purely fantasy hires imaginable, Wright would be mine. I dob’t think he’s just flat out said it, but he seems incredibly happy with the part-time analyst gig. And he’s great at it.

I love this just for the dude dropping Ron Hunter in here. Love that guy.

Absolutely true. And if Butler doesn’t make the play at the end of SDSU Final 4 game FAU is playing for a Natty, May has pulled a Brad Stevens, and nobody’s questioning whether he’s the Guy. If things were different they wouldn’t be the same.

AHC at Indiana St. Coached at Butler and Xavier. Heavily connected in-state recruiter.

Good player. Had a big game against Indiana St in the fall. Will have a great offer list.

2024 PG Daquan Davis to Florida State

Wherever Davis ends up is getting a winning player. Reading that article there certainly feels like a leader.
