    IUFB 2023 Tayven Jackson

I just hope TJ turns into a player we can build a team around. I am way over the revolving door that our QB position has been for a while now. I think it starts with a good QB to build an offense around.

(2024) - Liam McNeeley to UConn

How can Cupps not be a fan favorite? When his playing days are over, we need to get him on staff.
  3. When will it be enough to ask MSU to go play in a different conference?
  4. U of L 24 IU 10 I'm still not a believer. Hoosiers, convince me.
  5. NIL has added a new level of complexity to recruiting. I don't have a clue how to weight coaching, style of play, location, and NIL.

    They Fired Tom Allen!

If we are going to be discussing all the reasons why Tom Allen shouldn't have been hired/should be fired, this is going to be a very long season.
  7. If we could see the average star rating of their two deep vs ours we would feel pretty good about the score. Until we get more talent, staying close is the best we can hope for.
  8. OSU 45 IU 14 I gave us14 because by the time OSU's water boys and girls are in we might get another td.
  9. I just hope we get out of the game without any significant injuries. Our depth isn't good enough to overcome losing key players.

    RIP Coach Knight

You are correct. CBK had his own criteria for who deserved respect and who didn't. Having lived through the entirety of the Bob Knight era , I saw all of it in real time. I appreciate what CBK and what Coach Keady did during that time. I like that two former players of both coaches are leading their respective universities. I love the rivalry again because both coaches understand it.

(2023) - SG Jakai Newton to INDIANA

I hope I'm wrong, but this sounds like the season might be lost. At the very least, he won't be on the court anytime soon.

    RIP Coach Knight

I hate that competition so often brings out the worst in people. Respect for the opponent should always be a part of any game. Win and lose with class. I have a granddaughter who played eighth grade basketball last season and when I went to some of her games I was appalled by the behavior of some of the fans and cheerleaders. Very little sportsmanship and very little respect for the opponent. The parents were the worst. Coach Knight and Coach Learn demonstrated what respect and competition should be about.
  13. I would gladly go back to a simpler time when I could work on my 40 hp Volkswagen in my garage and sports weren't all about money and gladly let everyone else go fearlessly into the future.
  14. The 2024 class seems like the springboard to consistently being in the upper echelon of college basketball. Of course we have resources available now that didn't exist in the past. This season feels really important to me in terms of how the future plays out.
  15. I'm not sure how big that class be, but do we have an idea who the priorities are? I've been assuming that McNeely, Queen, and Fland were at the top of the board, but have no idea if that's the case.

    IU Basketball News and Notes

I'm extremely concerned about Newton after reading what his actual injury was. The recovery process sounded complicated with no timeline for returning to playing. I guess we'll see, but I'm worried about the long term prognosis. After reading your Costco comment, what's next Wal-Mart?

    (2022) - SG C. J. Gunn to DePaul

The kids always say the right things. The reports are always about how much work they are putting in. But there are only eight or nine kids who get significant playing time. When things get real, we'll find out who has the game. I like CJ a lot and am hoping he will be one of those guys. Ultimately, CMW will make that decision.

    (2022) - SG C. J. Gunn to DePaul

I hope he is good enough to be better than Bates was last year. I think he has the tools to really help us if he can put his game together. I'm rooting for him and believe he could be part of the outside shooting solution.
  19. Definitely works for me. Now I'm craving a 'blizzard' myself.
  20. I never got too invested in this because Flory was always reported to be heading somewhere else. It does annoy me a bit that he visited so many times and then lacked the courtesy to include IU in his final group. Maybe the coaching staff moved on for some reason and it was a mutual decision. Whatever the case, I no longer care where he ends up. As with all the kids, I hope it works out for him.

    Jalen Hood-Schifino - Philadelphia 76ers

Not sure I thought he was ready to be a one and done. But people who know a lot more than me thought so and now it's up to him how it works out. Hopefully he gets the chance to reach his potential. Nobody in the league is going to cut him any slack, they are all fighting for their professional careers.
