Crean spent a lot if time recruiting Lyle. A lot, only for him to choose Oregon/be ineligible. Big waste of time Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Sports Illustrated Ranks Nation's Best Guards

How true is that though? I have heard he sat out to protect his draft stock but where did that come from? Btw, if he was hurt and we were out of contention for anything why would he play and risk further injury? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I think JBJ is going to get a run for his money for minutes and recognition from Robert Johnson Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
I understand that McCarthy may not have the connections that some might have that have been in the business for decades but he was quick to follow the lead to choose vandy with little info and now has more info has yet to switch to IU has me confused. If he is right and he picks vandy then I will be the first to tip my cap but he is an Indiana insider and one of the only ones to still be choosing vandy. For his sake he better be right or he is going to lose all credibility as those in Carolina etc know more about an IU recruit then an IU insider. Wouldn't be good for his long term career Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I've been on him for picking vandy and not switching to IU despite all the signs. What is he waiting for? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Way to close it out tonight. That is the takeaway for me is that they faced a team that just would not throw in the towel yet they were able to pull away in the final minutes

Easy, Nobody talked crap about him when he was hoisting air balls either

Best NCAA coach in the game right now?
MikeRoberts replied to BubbleKnuts's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
How do you rationalize this list in that order? Whether you look at it recently or historically, Coach K has done more than anyone on that list. More NCAA titles than all of them combined and has won one more recently than all but Cal. Furthermore, he has had a longevity and consistency that is unmatched by any of the. #1 recruiting class this year as well as coaching the USA national team... How is he #4? -
Best NCAA coach in the game right now?

They were unknowns in the recruiting world and turned out to be All-Americans. That is an important distinction. He gets unrecruited, unknown players to perform well in his system and make them a ranked team year in and year out. Will he ever win the whole thing, likely not, but he has built a nice program out there and he has done it without the blue chip high school talent. -
6'4" Guard Nick Zeisloft joins Hoosiers

So as we all thought, Illinois State played a pretty weak schedule and did pretty poor against a weak schedule. I hope people are right and he offers a lot more of the intageables. -

I understand where you are coming from on this. However, there is support and support with concern. I am in the camp of support with major concern. I support IU and will cheer them on through thick and thin, but we just added 3 project players to an already huge class. Our biggest issue is lack of progress/growth over time because we do not keep kids for the duration. We need kids that are good enough to grow and stay 4 years and contribute at least a few of them. Problem is, many of these kids are such big projects they never progress and then leave. Meanwhile they held on to a scholly for a year or two. It's a bad cycle and we are doing it again with the last 3 scholarships. -

Hoosiers and Their Fans Must Forgive, Forget … and Fight on to the Finish
MikeRoberts replied to DocLibby's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
My question for DocLibby is, why did PSU want it more? Our coach and three best players were the primary causes of a lot of what went wrong. I cannot comprehend how that happens. Lack of focus, effort and heart by the guys we have to count on. I saw a look on Yogis face at the end of the Wisconsin game that told me, this guy isn't going to back down, he is going to will us to victory; I didn't see that look/desire against PSU.
