  3. The team with a true freshman Zander Diamont at quarterback for 2/3 of the year and the worst defense in the country won 4 games. Come on now.
  4. Per a poster on The Hoosier, the locker rooms are going to be upgraded before the season. So they will be joining the football team as recipients of nice new locker rooms (although that project won't happen until next summer).
  5. Floor getting refinished:
  6. Heads up for those who park in this lot, but the new wrestling/volleyball arena construction fencing is now up next to Cook Hall. Won't eliminate that many spots, just something to keep in mind if you park there. Will be blocked off until September 2018.
  7. For those who park in that lot:
  8. Poster? Here you go: http://iuhoosiers.com/sb_output.aspx?form=6
  9. The construction fence for the new wrestling and volleyball arena is going up today. It won't be that large in scope in terms of eliminating spots, just something to be aware of:
  10. To look through thousands of old pictures, the IU photo archive is a good time waster. Just search for any topic you want. This function is also available on a couple of the touchscreens in the south lobby of Assembly Hall. http://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/archivesphotos/index.jsp;jsessionid=1CD672A97003D335918D75BBD7C4F357
  11. The old fieldhouse, connected to Assembly Hall, got spruced up a little bit this summer, which gives me a good excuse to post these pictures:
  12. Ticket sales WAY up: https://www.ibj.com/blogs/4-the-sco...utm_content=the-score&utm_campaign=2017-08-09This is the time of year when it's safe for fans of college football to dream big. Everyone is undefeated. It's no different in Bloomington, where Indiana University Athletic Director Fred Glass is optimistic that new coach Tom Allen will lead the Hoosiers to new heights. The same optimism among Hoosiers fans is already leading to increased ticket sales, Glass said.“We’re well ahead of last year’s season-ticket sales,” Glass said. “We’re close to 30,000.”The Aug. 31 home opener against Ohio State University is nearing a sellout in 52,929-seat Memorial Stadium, Glass added.Adding a level of intrigue to that game, former IU Head Coach Kevin Wilson, whom Glass fired after last season, is now the offensive coordinator of nationally ranked Ohio State.“My expectation is we’ll sell out for the Ohio State game,” Glass said.Glass thinks the uptick in season ticket sales has more to do with IU’s growth than any of its opponents.“We’ve had back-to-back bowl games. We’ve beat Purdue four consecutive years for the first time in almost 70 years,” Glass said. “There’s clear momentum with this program, and Tom Allen has captured people’s imagination.”The Hoosiers last year had average home attendance of 43,027, down a bit from 44,314 in 2015, which was up from 41,657 in 2014.Glass is confident IU will average 45,000-plus this season for six home games at Memorial Stadium. That would be a major improvement over the 31,782 average attendance in 2008, the year before Glass arrived in Bloomington. The Hoosiers have seen a surge in season-ticket sales since 2011—Wilson's first year—when IU sold about 21,000 season tickets for football.“We’re excited about IU football right now,” Glass said. “And improving attendance helps us close the revenue gap. We’re a have-not in a league of haves."Glass praised Wilson for “laying a strong foundation.”“Now we have to take it to the next level,” Glass said. “I think we’re in a position to do that.”
  13. To be fair, we were hit hard by injuries at RB last year. That's why we only had two active for the spring game.
  14. Brookins is good. He's paid his dues and did well in the bowl game against a good Utah defense. I'm fine with him out there. It'll be by committee anyway. Just because he's a walk on doesn't mean he's not a good player. Now obviously if you're constantly relying on walk ons, you're probably going to have some problems. But that's not the case, and he is a solid player.
  15. Cool video feature from our training room: anti-gravity treadmill... http://www.hoosiersportsreport.com/video/?video=fe5b62eb8d844c65687be8872b5194646ae03dd5 All this stuff will be moved over to the SEZ next summer, which will allow the current space (and old Hoosier Room) to be turned into additional space for the new football locker room/player's lounge.
  16. For a reference point, Louisville's main scoreboard that they had up until this offseason was the exact size of what we just put up in the north end zone:The south video board (2018) will be essentially the same size as the previous SEZ board, except about 5 feet taller.
  17. Maryland has recruited well for a while now. They have yet to show anything on the field.
  18. He definitely is. He spouted off like that in Tampa constantly, and then got fired.
  19. It's possible. I know I've discussed it on a couple message boards. The board is currently in storage. I asked an assistant A.D. on Twitter a few months ago what they had planned for it, and they said they were putting it in storage until they can figure out what to do with it. They should be able to take that board and split it up, so like baseball and softball could get one.
  20. Defense projected 20-22: http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/245984008/college-football-top-25-best-defense-rankings https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2710649-predicting-the-top-25-defenses-in-college-football-for-2017.amp.html
