This is where I am at. Just because his basketball IQ is high doesn’t mean he is necessarily good. There are a lot of talent smart basketball minds out there that weren’t the most talented of players. This is the category I’m placing Leal in. He doesn’t push the needle for me at all and I don’t see it when he is on the court. Archie and Woodson both have not played him huge minutes so they don’t see it either. The minutes Woodson has given him have come from injuries and boneheaded teammates. I hope IU is not putting a bunch of Leal on the floor because then we really wouldn’t be any good. And when he is in the game our offense looks good? He just started playing because of injuries and suspension and we just went on a losing streak. He didn’t seem to help out a whole lot during that stretch. I get it I like the kid and I’m sure he is an astounding as far as character and everything goes. I to am not seeing the Leal love. Hasn’t been great when he has had his chance. Atleast he finally hit a shot last night but his defense was cringe worthy at times. We don’t have a whole lot of good options but still I don’t see Leal getting big minutes ever while he is at IU unless he improves drastically. I’m sorry but anyone who watched lander in high school knew he was being over ranked. Not to mention he then reclassified which was a terrible decision.
