He would have to commit to taking graduate classes during that season, but doesn't mean he would have to finish the degree.

Starting Lineup Predictions
BGleas replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Not to be a downer, but I'm not sure that's what it means. It's really only one spot. The vast majority have Yogi, JBJ, Troy and Hanner locked in, it's just that 3rd guard spot that varies between Zeisloft, RoJo and Stan. -
The other option is he's sometimes just trying to throw one of his guys a "solid". Get a guy so,e positive PR. Get a guy he knows isn't going to play in the NBA some extra looks from good European clubs, etc. I doubt he really believed Elston was an NBA player. He barely got off the bench at IU even when healthy.

Same here. Glad Holt looks legit and can help, but what does that say about David, and especially Hanner, if this kid can come in and potentially take their spot?

Watford is in the NBA! Now a CELTIC
BGleas replied to ALASKA HOOSIER's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Non guaranteed though, so he can get cut in camp. Either way though, always love when my Hoosiers end up with my Celtics! -
I agree we should have won more than 12 games that year, but we were still a bad team. Maybe like 14-15 wins?

Top "Realistic" Recruit Commits for 15
BGleas replied to Bk4life's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I said elite. Those guys are nice talents and would be good gets, but I'm talking your McDonald's AA candidates. Those two aren't that. I mean your Zellers, JBJ's, Vonleh's, etc. -
But, they weren't identical rosters. Taking away a teams best player has a huge impact. It's not like they went from a good big to a great one. You could argue in 2010-11 that Pritchard was the worst starting center in the Big Ten. We went from arguably the worst to the best. Take Evan Gordon or Ethrington off last years team and replace him with Stauskas or Gary Harris and we're an entirly different team.

Top "Realistic" Recruit Commits for 15
BGleas replied to Bk4life's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's amazing that we haven't been able to get a single elite 2015 player onboard for an official. Not really a complaint, as we should have most of our team back, but just an odd occurrence. -
But that contributor was the best and most impactful player on the team at a position of desperate need.

Rating Tom Crean's Recruiting Classes
BGleas replied to Lt. John McClaine's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If I had to rate them, considering '13 and '14 are still unproven, I'd go: 2010 2009 2013 (could leapfrog 09) 2011 2014 (reserve the right to move them way up if JBJ stays more than 1 year and RoJo is for real) 2012 2008 -
This!!!!! Put names on the jerseys, change the style, etc., I don't care as long as we're winning. I don't condone cheating, bad academics or anything like that, but beyond that, just win. Just win.

(2015) C Stephen Zimmerman to UNLV
BGleas replied to JSHoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I'll be surprised if this visit actually happens. -
Did Tom Crean write that? Maybe to sway fanbase opinion

Crossroads Classic Extended Through 2019
BGleas replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I don't see how it's a win for Indiana? If we lost we get crushed, if we win it's just expected. I don't have the ratings, but I'm not sure the national audience really cares about this. -
I don't know the rules, but if what's been posted is accurate, then why not just have Crean step out when they switch from drills to 5-on-5 pickup and the current players come in to play?

(2015) JUCO PF Ray Kasongo
BGleas replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I don't know if that's good or bad? Is IU the forgone conclusion because everyone else dropped out, or did everyone else drop out because IU is the forgone conclusion. -
OT: Possible Move to Richmond, VA
BGleas replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Richmond is nice, and Charlottesville is gorgeous. I had some friends that used to live in the Richmond area and we'd visit once or twice a year. They lived in an outskirt of Richmond called Midlothian and it seemed really nice. Congrats on the offer. -
Crossroads Classic Extended Through 2019

Why would there be personal shots? We're just having a discussion. It's all good, except this dumb Crossroads things :) -
Crossroads Classic Extended Through 2019
BGleas replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Again, the rumor was we were invited to one of these and couldn't do it because of the Crossroads thing. So, I don't think our history is the issue at all. We're good enough to be invited to the Jimmy V thing. We're good enough to be invited to the think in Brooklyn last year with UConn. I hate this phrase, but agree to disagree I guess. -
Crossroads Classic Extended Through 2019
BGleas replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Who is "they"? I don't think that has anything to do with it. There was actually a rumor that IU was approached to be in the new one that OSU is in, but we couldn't do it because of this Crossroads thing. We were #1 in the country for most of the year two years ago and won the best conference in the country. We're an historic Blue Blood that brings, eye balls, money, etc. if we wanted to be in one we would. A lot of times it's the AD's putting things together anyways. MSU's AD came up with the aircraft carrier thing. He also came up with the new one where MSU and a few other schools are playing a round robin in NYC, Chicago and LA over 8 days. You really thing IU couldn't get involved in something like that with Arizona, UNC and Kansas? Play games in NYC, Vegas and Dallas. It has nothing to do with our recent history. -
Crossroads Classic Extended Through 2019
BGleas replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yes, something like the Champions Classic. I'm not sure agree with you on "deserving" it, but it's not even about that. Those things are about bringing money, fannies in the seats and exposure to advertisers on the TV. IU checks all those boxes and then some. -
Crossroads Classic Extended Through 2019
BGleas replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I hate that IU is in this! Always have. IU should be in one of these nationally prominent classics with the likes of Duke, Arizona, UK, Kansas, UNC, MSU, etc. these schools are playing in these things all over the country at the national level and IU is playing in this lose/lose Crossroads Classic. -
Is Kasongo known as a good defender? Freshmen bigs usually aren't.

(2015) SG Jalen Coleman to Illinois
BGleas replied to JSHoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Remember how some (myself included) reacted to Zeisloft? Duncan Robinson is a D3 transfer. Granted he was great at Williams College his freshmen year, that's still a big leap in competition/talent level.
