Would be great to seek flexibility to cancel it.

Nowhere near 17, but I once took 10 3's in a game in college...Don't ask me how many I made, was a little cold that night :D

That's ridiculous if true. I remember my high school coach always cut practices down after the holidays. Practices the day before a game would be about 45 minutes to an hour long and mostly just shell/walk through game planning, scouting reports and fine tuning our stuff. We were always better as the season wore on. My college coach was the complete opposite. He'd run us hard even in February. I remember one time having a full 20 minute intra-sqaud scrimmage the morning of a game, and another time actually running suicide sprints during a game-day morning shoot-around. My college teams were always worse as the season went on.

I think that's where kids can get ranked lower than they should sometimes. This kid has skill, we know that, but he might be the equivalent of a top 30 recruit when he gets into a better strength and conditioning program and turns some of that baby fat into muscle. It could really transform his game, not that it's bad now.

Might just be a bad angle or something, but to be honest he looks like he could use an offseason with Je'ney Jackson. Looks a little doughy...

That's why I wrote "/Hanner" and put the spot in both the starting lineup and bench. IMO, a guy like Thomas Bryant has a chance to start, but if we don't get him and end up with some 5th year transfer or a guy that committed elsewhere and they decommit because of a coaching change then I'd expect Hanner to still start. Nobody said it was easy, but it's Crean's job and he has a ton of resources at his disposal. We can't have two years in a row where our interior is swiss cheese. Also, the real point of my post is that I'm high on Holt and feel that Crean should go bigger and play him at the 4 not the 5.

Yes and no. Yogi and Hanner would be seniors. RoJo and JBJ would be experienced sophomores, and despite what happened in October I think Holt is a leader and a guy that's beyond his years in terms of the way he plays. You'd also have Hartman (jr) and Z (sr) off the bench. Losing Stan and Troy doesn't really hurt from an experience/leadership standpoint because they're not "basketball IQ" players and they're not leaders. You get to a point where it's almost addition by subtraction.

Going beyond the backcourt, I would love to see a lineup of the below next year (with a caveat that a lot can change between now and then). Yogi JBJ RoJo Holt Big recruit/Hanner (depending on who the recruit is and who would win the job) Bench Rotation: Nick Z Hartman Big recruit/Hanner Devin Davis (assuming he's back and able to play) Max Morgan I think we'd be doing Holt a disservice by forcing him to play the 5. I really think he's a talented kid who could become an essential part of the program for the next 4 years, but we need to let him grow and expand his game. Not saying he'd be as talented, but I think he can be a Draymond Green/Harrell type of player.

Perea hit some shots you don't expect from him, but he still only had 3 rebounds. That can't happen. I feel bad that he's a bit on an island in the interior, but he is not a good rebounder and that's exactly what we need from him. You're not going to win a game like that when your starting 5 has 2 defensive rebounds. -

The problem is his main jobs are rebounding and defense and he's still not too good at those. The scoring is just gravy. -
I'll leave it at this, I would love to see us land Bryant and then start Holt as our 4 next year beside him or Hanner.

A guard just out rebounded Hanner. -

Now we're playing frustrated and letting it affect our offense. This is where it snowballs. -

I'm not a moral victory guy really, but we simply don't have the personnel inside to hang with this team. We've played well, outside of 1-2 guys. With any kind of inside rebounding presence we're a top 15 team. -

Can we at least try Holt and Perea together? They don't play Harrell at center. -

The real matchup isn't our offense against their defense, it's the reverse. We're letting an average offensive team score at will. If we could muster any kind of defense the last 10 we can win. -

Can't make them all, but that would have been a big one. -

Look like a charge to me. Yogi was moving, but Rozier dipped his shoulder big time. Not blaming the refs, but this is a game that favors us if the fouls are called tight and favors them if they're called loose. To this point the refs have let Louisville play. -

Troy needs to be told that once he crosses half court to just stop and wait for Yogi to come get it. -

I'm telling you, nobody on this team should play in the second half outside of the starting 5 and Holt, Zeisloft and Hartman. Also, two of JBJ, Yogi and RoJo should always be in the game. Their two big runs came when we went to the bench. -

We should be going no more than 7-8 deep in this game. Unless foul trouble dictates otherwise, Zeisloft, Holt and Hartman should be the only guys off the bench. -

Hartman just let Blackshear take the ball from him. We're playing scared.
