I don't even really care about pace. Much more concerned with efficiency. An offense isn't good or bad because the pace is slow or fast, it's whether their efficient. UVA's title team maybe played at a slow pace, but that was a very good offense and was very efficient.

Interesting to see who people would pick amongst each duo. Without putting much thought to it and really off the top of my head, I would go: Stevens Few (Drew has the title and Indiana ties, Few has the longer history of consistent top teams but is older) McCollum (tough one, I like Schertz too) Turgeon :) Devries Collins (tough one) Otzelberger

This is what happens when you all pressure me to post non anti-Stevens stuff. Lol!

Will be really interesting if Sam Cassell also comes to fruition at FSU. That would be assistants hired at the first three schools to fill their openings (Miami, Utah and FSU if it happens). Definitely interesting.

BGleas? Haha, not me. I don't live in Indiana, but stoked to hear there are more of us IU/Celtics fans out there.

I was in PR/Media relations.

Thanks! I am definitely not an insider and don't have any inside information. The only even close to "inside info" I've ever had on this is what I shared from last search when I asked a high-ranking Celtics employee if he thought Stevens would ever coach in college again, and he "spit out his coffee" laughed at the notion. But i have been on the inside at the NBA level, albeit a long time ago at this point, so i believe i have a unique perspective on how these things go down, how information gets out and how these organizations operate. It's just one experience, but I hope it's helpful.

It was a mutual parting of the ways.

If not a Celtics plane and if not an IU affiliated plane, then not sure what that says. It probably says nothing. Maybe was just visiting his kid. The fact that he was decked out in ND gear tells me he most likely wasn't scouting the game, was there as just Dad. He could have been scouting elsewhere earlier in the week and then swung by to see his kid? Who knows? Could he a ton of different things (including an IU thing).
-
Absolutely! I would also assume if Brad occasionally wanted to fly out to ND and see a game, even if not directly for scouting purposes, that the team would cover that as well. So again, I have no idea if his attendance had anything to do with the IU job. I just do know that him not being at a Celtics regular season game on a Wednesday in March by itself is nothing. The reason he wasn't there could be anything, including some IU connection. Who knows?

I literally made that post in the most benign way possible (on purpose), starting it off with "not supporting or shooting anything down..."
-
Thanks, man! To be clear for everyone else, I wasn't even saying Stevens being at the game means nothing. I purposely worded my post very benign because I know how people get with any Stevens pushback. Was just saying saying Stevens not being at the Celtics game means nothing. I have known idea if him being at the ND game means anything.

I've literally racked up 10's of thousands of posts over the last 15 years between the old scout site, the different variations of HSN and here. I'm not an IU fan? Ok!

I'm saying in a vacuum, and NBA GM not being at a his teams regular season home game is fairly normal. They certainly attend very often, but it's also regular for them to not be at a home game due being on the road scouting, etc.
-
Um, ok. I posted non-Stevens stuff the last few days as well. Just trying to provide value where I can, and this is one area where I can.
-
Not supporting anything or shooting anything down, just saying it's completely normal for an NBA Pres of Bbal ops, GM, etc., to not be at one of his teams games. Of course they attend a lot, but certainly not all especially during the college bball season. So while you can infer signs from some things, Stevens not being at the Celtics game last night isn't really one of them on its own.
-
Yeah, have seen a few posts over the last couple of days saying McDermott "flopped in his only Power 5 job". He's literally in a Power 5 job right now and as yoy said, has been for the last 10 years.

How do the naysayers not enjoy this? Even if it doesn't happen...so entertaining... I'm one of the biggest Stevens naysayers on here, but have been hitting refresh on this thread non-stop. Peak entertainment!

For sure!

The chances that the athletic department "leaked" those names and is why message boards are talking about them is slim to none.

100%! Incredibly confident IU will have a good coach, program building coach next season.
-
Haha, no I'm definitely not! I actually thought about putting a disclaimer on my post. It was absolutely not meant as a shot at you, RTZ, Jerry, etc. You guys are great, I love what you bring, and you're all of course longtime, respected posters and contributors of these boards. I've just been on the inside (not at IU obviously) so have seen these things play out and how the information gets out. 100% believe you guys all have sources and connections and again love and appreciate that you bring that info here. I'm not trying to throw shade at you guys, and I hope that isn't how it's interpreted.
-
Absolutely! I'm super confident we'll get a good coach that has IU contending regularly again! I've said a couple times, but this Galloway, Rice, Leal, Goode, Ballo/Reneau lineup has made watching IU fun again the last two games. Wish it didn't take the staff so long to figure it out.

In my opinion, the most likely scenario is that Dolson does not have his guy, but that he does have a strong list of top (maybe 3-5) candidates that he is extremely confident he has the resources to land and maybe even has back-channel high interest from a couple. The telephone game has probably turned that into "Dolson has his guy" by the time that info has gotten to places like this and other fan message boards, etc.
