Brian Walsh Assistant Coach to O$U
WayneFleekHoosier replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Walsh wanted Ohio State a year ago. He gets it now. Good dude. All the main assistants ended in good spots. Hunter to Texas Yasir to LSU I believe Walsh to Ohio State. Someway, somehow we need to separate ourselves within the B1G. I like our current staff of assistants very well. Good recruiters and some college ball knowledge and experience. Hope can get something rolling. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners -
2026 General Recruiting Thread (Bball)
WayneFleekHoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
One thing that is clear with these offers, is DeVries isn't set on being a Transfer Portal guy. Clearly looking to go after top rated Freshman. Maybe more cost effective than the Portal. Need both. Does youth win? etc etc. Liking the offers though. nice looking players. -

Day 5 of saying. I really want Goode back. I’m (Goode) with Leal being back. He loves Indiana and the Hoosiers and he can contribute if needed. However as I’ve said all offseason, I felt like this roster needed 1 more splash and/or big depth and not getting that stinks. Nothing against Leal, because it could have been anyone else’s spot. -
I know conversations come up time to time about this. From Money Magazine this month. Indiana #19 business school Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

2025-2026 IUBB Season Expectations
WayneFleekHoosier replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well said. My points and thoughts are just different. DeVries came to Indiana because we have top 10 resources, then built the team the way you build a team at Iowa or whatever. It doesn’t mean we can’t win. Maybe we will. But he could have built this team at West Virginia. HOWEVER, Drew Adams, Clark, Kenny Johnson and the start to 2026 targets indicate he’s going to try to get high level Freshman which those schools don’t usually get. This season is the Cignetti approach which I’m fine with, I just think it’s an odd decision with top 10 resources. It doesn’t really match. Also taking 10 from the TP, I’m certain, complicates things. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app -
The Basketball Tournament 2025 - Assembly Ball

Glad we are partaking. This roster should be fun to see for old times sake. I think they’ve been trying to get Vonleh for a while now too. -

Torvik which isn’t fully updated has us #38. Feels about right to me. Goode will bump us a bit. Tons of question marks heading into next season with a tough schedule to boot. Will be incredibly low on fanfare during the off-season. However, like Cig, if DeVries can win excitement will follow. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners -

Wish our finish was Luke Goode +Niko Bundalo. If only. Or Even Leo Curtis just in case. -
This seems obvious yet not at all the plan. Had the resources to get a center. Choosing to go the Goode/Leal direction. It’s unfortunate. I really like Goode. He’s a #1-8 player. I really like Leal. His impact is tough. Clearly he impacts winning. However the glaring size deficiency is what makes it tough. I’m Sure DeVries knows this isn’t Drake basketball in the B1G. Hoping he outsmarts the room.

Still produces great talent. Not quite the level before maybe but still high quality. I think Indiana issue has been, since Knight, trying to be like Calipari’s Kentucky without getting anywhere near enough talent for that to be successful. We have been targeting kids that #1 goal is getting to the NBA. We haven’t fostered the culture of toughness and winning. Then we don’t have the resources (especially pre-NIL) to get enough talent to overcompensate. Even then you need a coach capable of instilling teamwork and fundamentals. The sweet spot is getting the right kids with talent that don’t have so many hanger-ons, where you can work towards the common goal of winning first and foremost and let the rest take care of itself. I envy the coaches that can get the “NBA” kids and make that work but that seems to take a success track first. Anyway, Purdue and so many other rosters have Indiana kids excelling. They are out there, just got to have a system and a vision. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app -

Several recent years have been frustrating but this year has been the worst. Lots of promise wasted. Try again next year hopefully with some seasoned pitchers. -

Don’t get your hopes up. It’s not the plan. -
Probably close. Miles/Goode/Dorn fighting for starting role. Harris will play. Drake fighting for Enright/Leals spot. Sisley will probably be brought along slowly but practice will dictate. Defense of your first unit will be rough. That’s one reason I wonder if Dorn/Miles plays over Goode to start? Our Big depth is laughable. Is Bailey gets injured we are thin quickly. If 2 frontcourt players have problems we are in nightmare land.

I like Leal and Goode. I think both are +s to a roster but like you I want a C. Apparently staff and DeVries don’t feel that way. I disagree but I’ve had several issues with the roster. -

It’s insane. However they’ve definitely known. I like Leal plenty. I like Goode even a touch more. Will be happy with both, unfortunately, I want another big and when I realized we weren’t getting one it bummed me out a bit. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app -

It wasn’t meant to be a post about style. It was more to the impact Oats has had and the near immediacy. They are now somewhat of a new blood expected to be near the top 10-15-20 each year. Recruit incredibly well. Good coaching and money and boom, a near immediate flip at a school that didn’t know what basketball was. I’m hoping Indiana will eventually be so lucky. That level of winning and recruiting would have me excited year after year. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app -

Without question. That’s why I’m extra nervous. I want him or anyone to be great! No reason why we can’t be the Alabama of the North. Money and good coaching virtually immediately made them a powerhouse. I’d sign up for their results/ expectations/prognositications immediately. In my hopes and dreams that’s our path.
