And he chose not to play him in the most Important games of the year. He’s got some size, versatility, and probably a willing bench piece. They can’t all be starters. And that’s ok. I get that. And I’m happy to not have to watch Woody attempt to figure out offense and defense ever again. And get outcoached in 95% of the games. We will run a fair amount of 5 out stuff. He’s says they will play hard. I feel like our ceiling is capped but maybe not. Great players hidden all over college basketball. Everyone knew we’d get commitments. The debate about the quality of the roster still persists. We are 30-40 ranked roster. Will we overachieve? Let’s hope. But it’s not a statement to the college basketball world that we mean business. It’s blue collar approach to roster building. It’s optimistic but it’s still just optimism for a new style and coach. I think it does. We’ve got a mid major all star team going, literally. DeVries is trying to be the Cignetti of college hoops. I hope it works and translates. I will say, I was most definitely ready to move on from Crean by the end of his tenure, but the way he has handled his post Indiana days has made me very fond of the guy. Just a truly caring guy that shows his guys the ultimate respect and handles Indiana with a bit of admiration and fondness. Pretty awesome stuff.

Some mutual interest with Indiana and Desmond Claude. But about 6 schools that are big spenders. Intriguing. Conerway, Wilkerson, Claude, DeVries and a big would turn some heads I think.

Well said. It leaves me with concerns but ultimately I’ll be rooting harder than ever. I think there is a fine line on getting talent and getting the right talent. Gotta have the right mentality. But also have to have the talent. Let’s hope DeVries is threading that needle.

I will Ditto this. Shooting is such a translatable stat, it’s a shame we didn’t prioritize it in the past. Woodson literally was trying to recreate 80’s NBA where every team had 1 sharpshooter. Centers were dominant. i think Centers can still be dominant but it takes a special one. Edey was a prime example. Anyway, modern basketball should be a lot more fun.

He’s little for a 2 but seems like a 1 or a small 2. Assuming Conerway I’d think was a 1 but he’s a 1-2. Enright seems more of a 1. Rooting for deuce to make the leap.
