We're still behind the Europeans when it comes to vehicles. Their divorce rates are lower as well, but that's not industrial.
They also do drunk driving right. From what I think I remember (lol), you get one DUI and you don't get your license back. Ever. Don't hold me to that, but I think that's the rule. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

1. Troubling and would not be good, but I'm holding out hope based on our upside and winning some big games so far. 2. I'm not worried about it at all. I see Wichita losing to Indiana State tonight based on terrible travel conditions and ISU is tough at home. Syracuse I see losing at Duke, if not before. If both teams win out, a conference tournament loss is very realistic. 3. Is annoying. Yes, it is frustrating sometimes to watch him coach and his decisions can be completely mind-boggling, but he isn't going anywhere and we can't get anyone better right now anyways. (I'm not calling you bringing it up annoying, just the whole situation.) 4. I had so much hope for last year. All the hype. All the talent. I felt like those guys were family. All of the players were likable. I was fortunate enough to go to Dayton for the tournament games and it made me even more excited for a tournament run, but we weren't prepared for Syracuse. Not a fun situation, but what can we do? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

OT: Living Conditions for Athletes and Media in Sochi

Another addition to the hilarity in Sochi. Apparently there is now a shortage of pillows for the athletes in the Olympic village. According to organizers, the shortage is due to "the unexpected arrival of athletes to the mountain". Wait...what?! To help with this shortage, pillows are being taken from event volunteers' rooms and being given to the athletes. Go Russia! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Oladipo 3PT% last year: 44.1% Hulls 3PT% last year: 44.4% Oladipo's basketball IQ was pretty darn good as well. As a senior, Oladipo would have provided great leadership as well. Suddenly Jordan Hulls became Winston Churchill in people's eyes. He was a great senior leader, but Oladipo would be a great leader too as a senior. Oladipo was by far the better all-around basketball, making this question a piece of cake.
I don't think anyone has said that Vic didn't have a good IQ and wasn't a leader. Sure, they might have similar 3 point percentages, but look at attempts. I'm not positive, but I'd say Jordy took quite a few more. Hulls, in my mind, was way better at stretching the defense with his shooting. Also, I'm almost certain that everyone here is in agreement that Oladipo was the best overall player. No worries there. It's all just a matter of opinion. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
First: pre·science ˈpreSH(ē)əns noun 1. the fact of knowing something before it takes place; foreknowledge. What's all this about 3 point foresight? Second: I didn't think it was possible for people to undervalue Oladipo, but here we are.
First: It was probably a spelling error. No big deal. Second: I don't think anyone is undervaluing Vic, but look at what we lack this year. An ultra consistent 3-point shooter (sure Yogi is 44%, but sometimes he chucks). Jordy brought that. Not to mention his leadership and IQ. Vic brought hustle and fantastic defense. I don't see very many guys not hustling and not defending thus far. Yes, Vic was far and away better at both, and he was the best player we graduated, but losing Hulls' shooting and IQ hurts us way more. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Call me crazy, but IF we do get into the tournament, I would really rather not play us if I'm on the majority of teams in it. We've proven that we can play with some of the top teams in the country and we play pretty good defense. I'm not saying we'll get back to the Sweet 16, let alone make a deep run, but we would absolutely be a tough out. This, obviously, is all dependent on us getting in.
I figured I'd throw out a blind resume for you all... Team A: 14-6 overall record, 54 RPI, 2-3 vs. RPI top 50, SOS: 65 Team B: 14-8 overall record, 65 RPI, 2-4 vs. RPI top 50, SOS: 57 One team is considered in, the other is considered out. I'll let you speculate how much Strength of Schedule should matter in determining position in the tournament.
Personally, I would put in Team A. Not a big enough difference in SOS for me. And one less loss against the top 50. Just my personal opinion. No idea what the committee would do. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Shaun White pulled out of slopestyle due to the awful course. One rider said hitting one of the jumps was like "jumping out of a building". So that competition just became less watchable. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
I'll agree with Hulls. The leadership was huge, but those 25-30 foot bombs are greatly missed right now. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Yeah, it's an HBO series that you should definitely look for. The accusations of political corruption are scary. They definitely covered the geographic difficulties, and had a piece that claimed the government spent 20 million to paint the outside of all the abandoned buildings and dilapidated housing projects that could be seen from the roads entering the village, to hide the signs of poverty.
Haha I saw the painted buildings today. Just a giant tarp painted to look like a building and draped over the front. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
I have been worried about this since I saw the Real Sports w/ Bryant Gumbel episode, detailing all the political corruption and poverty surrounding the Olympic village. Was very eye opening if you have not seen it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
I will have to try to find that, but I've done some reading on it and the location is just bad. Tiny village not anywhere near big enough for the amount of people. Poor infrastructute. And especially location in regards to the geographic area. Just from some quick map research I did, it would be like having the Olympics in Indy, while a Civil War goes on in the Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama area. Just terrible planning.
I saw something on ESPN tonight. The water thing was discussed and also that you couldn't flush your used toilet paper. There was a waste basket next to the toilet that you threw it in. Was even a multi-language sign explaining the procedure. Now that's nasty.
I've heard that the waste basket next to the toilet thing is actually the norm in most countries, especially ones that are "less Western", if you will. Small pipes can't handle the paper very well. Even in some of the more popular European cities. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Indiana Pacers 2013-2014

Pacers have pretty much dominated the 2nd half. Lance got hurt earlier in the game, but they didn't make it sound too serious. Hopefully we can close this one out. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Russia should never have gotten the games in the first place, that country is a wreck. This was for them to try and show that they are still a world power but then they do this. Their government is crazy. I'd be surprised if the 2018 world cup isn't relocated after how bad of a job they did for the olympics. I saw athletes that were complaining about the conditions of the slopes and halfpipes as well. The living quarters don't even have clean water, and they look like prison cells.
I keep up with action sports a little bit and Torstein Horgmo, probably the best snowboarder in the world behind Shaun White got hurt and now can't compete. His wreck was caused by the terrible slopes. Russia was a terrible idea, especially the location (barely) within Russia. Putin is a delusional leader of a terribly poor country. And I totally agree about the World Cup. I'd say Russia is another (almost certain) discovery of another failure away from losing it. I hope they do lose it and it comes to the U.S. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Haha damn dude that's rough. Saw a picture of one of the public bathrooms it had two johns per stall taking a dump right next to someone.
That is, relatively speaking, a nice restroom in Sochi. The original deadspin article had a lot more details, and in it, a member of the media was on his way to his room and before he got there, a stray dog walked out of it. Another media member had to send his sheets back to get washed because, upon entering his room, found....."male bodily fluids" on the bed. From what I have read, the athletes' living conditions are at least decent, but the media is getting screwed. Russia really should be embarrassed and the games haven't even started yet. Am I the only one that is worried that something REALLY bad is going to happen? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Lol he has some nice side boob poking out of the armpit there. Anybody ever created a monstrously fat player on Madden and made him athletic? He reminds me of that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Cubs fan. I don't care about baseball nearly as much as football or basketball, so I'm not as torn up about how bad they always are as some. They really do seem to be looking up with Epstein though, that guy is amazing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Off topic, but a quick question and I'm just putting it on the hottest thread. I just saw a Vine that was titled "Yogi's Little Brother" and was made at a Columbus East game. Does he actually have a little brother? Never heard of him if so. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
