Dorm or off campus? Mixed feelings? Honestly as a Sophomore, and new to campus, Wilkie can be a great option for you to live and especially meet a bunch of other non freshman. Wilkie is near your sports buildings I believe as well. I never lived in Wilkie, but I did have some friends Senior year that all met at Wilkie in their sophomore year (first year at IU) and became good friends and got a house together junior and senior year. I guess living situation is affected a lot by if you know a lot of people on campus already or not. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners
I know some people, but my plan is to live off-campus. Haven't done much looking for places yet. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
First off, congrats on getting admitted! Best advise I can give is live every day like it's your last down there. The time will absolutely fly by and you won't want to look back and say "damn, wish I did that." If you know the campus and area well already than that's the biggest battle. Do you have any idea where you are going to live? Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners
I know the town pretty well, but other than the stadium and The Hall, I haven't been on campus at all. And I'm not sure where I'm going to live yet. That's the next step in the process. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
I hope on Bryant. I am a huge Cubs fan. Damn Jayboob is a Cards fan. But, I would be shocked if he came up earlier than September. Even then, I would be surprised. If they hold him down past July, they will gain another year of control. If they aren't doing anything, and they hold him until September, I wouldn't be surprised if he wouldn't come up until next July for the same reason. I think Baez comes up this year. Alcantara will as well. Almora is 2 years out. I think of the big 4, Soler will be the bust. Cubs just don't have the top pitching in their system needed to compete with the Cardinals, even if most of their bats pan out. Even if they go arm in the 1st round this year, I see eventually Castro getting traded for arms. Shark will get traded as well. IMO
Awesome. Found a Cubs fan. Not a huge baseball fan, but I keep up enough. I've just been reading Bleacher Report articles and I've been seeing Bryant is on a fast track. I think Baez will dominate when he gets comfortable. Soler will be interesting because he is a physical beast. I'm really interested in Mike Olt. He could be huge, but he has that eye issue. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
The problem with baseball might be college baseball. In basketball and football, you have two money making sports. You get familiar with the players and they step in right away. If we all followed college baseball, we wouldn't hear from the kids after they leave for usually 3 years. Hell, Kris Bryant the best college bat in a few years will spend 2 years in the minors. I think that has honestly hurt baseball since we have become a society where we want things now. The average age of the baseball fan is getting older and older. I do like the concept of either coming straight out of high school, or waiting 2 years. If Silver makes them stay until they are 20, things could also become interesting. A team like IU who can recruit would benefit. A team like Kentucky will still be damn good, but they would get less players, because less turnover. Those players we are in deep with the Dukes, UNC, Kentucky, Kansas down the line will look harder at us with that rule change that is probable.
Actually rumors are that Bryant will come up a couple months into this season from what I've read. Can't wait to see what he can do. Edit: I do see what you're saying. I was just being technical about Bryant. -
I just upped to professional recently.
The WC is included in 2014, you just have to take an International Manager position of a team that will be in the 2014 actual tournament. I took the US job and made it to the quarter-finals, but eventually lost to Denmark.
I know the WC is on it. I lost in pool play haha. I just like the WC version because it has like 200 countries on it and it's more real-life accurate with stadiums and all that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
A friggin cop in B-town isn't gonna get fired for taking a basketball player to his coaches house...nice discrete and so forth....Cops look awful anyway....:)
We just have to agree to disagree here, my man. While I agree that Crean's punishment would physically be much more painful, I think drunk driving is too serious to let someone off for. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Give him some friggin glue for the next game and turn him over to Crean!!!!! The wrath of Crean would be more than a judge could impart. Absolutely discretion can be used in this situation. JMO I have no love for show boat cops who think they walk on water etc.
I fully understand what you're saying, but look at it from the cop's point of view. He takes Hanner to Crean's, this story leaks, thus leaking that a cop let off a kid that was driving drunk. That looks like (and sort of is) preferential treatment. The cop looks AWFUL, gets reprimanded, (loses his job?) and this is an even bigger story. Drunk driving is just too serious to let go like that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
The more I pay attention to him (and I can't stand the sleaze ball), the more I think he's actually a pretty good coach (ughh). His track record was definitely superior to Crean's when he got the UK job.
Exactly how I feel. Can't stand the guy. Not sure how it is that he recruits so well, but he gets results with guys that don't always mesh very well. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
I still say the cop should have taken him to Creans. so big ....t if he was driving under the influence. Things can be handled more discrete. Show boating cops...........look you are barking up the wrong tree with me. I have no respect for butt wipe cops that want the spot light....thats CRAP!!!
Maybe if he was walking down the street drunk, stumbling whatever, taking him to Crean's would be okay, but he was DRIVING. He is a danger to other people. In the report it said he ran into a curb. That isn't something you can just "let go" and have Crean make him run for it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
