Trying to set my bias aside, going from Conwell (and Hickman) to Essegian for that spot would be insanely depressing. There will be/are much better players in the portal than that.

I did a quick check and some Cincy sites have him penciled in on the 24-25 scholarship numbers lol. With his injury history, I doubt he's a big factor, but I think he's part of the equation.

After seeing Cincy in the NIT, I'm not sure if Hickman is better than any of the guards you listed. Definitely behind James and Simas, I don't think Thomas played. Don't they get CJ Fredrick back too?

Whether it’s a coordinated campaign (tend to not believe this) or just people with burners connected to the program banding together (I do believe it’s this…though I know the identity of some and can not find the connection to the program) you’re exactly right, it is awful for the fanbase and program. It accomplishes nothing and won’t be fixed by anything but winning and winning consistently. I’ve never really seen something like it - in the sports world, that is.

Very well said. At this point in the landscape, it isn’t “do things the ‘right’ way” vs. “win at all costs”. It’s “Be the Oakland A’s” vs. “Pay the going rate”. The only way a guy makes “too much” is if it’s too big of a dent in our NIL pool and, with this fanbase/donor group, I’m not convinced the pool has a limit right now.

One of these days they’ll get all of our offseason champion banners printed and we’ll have to build a new shiny arena to hold them all. If Travises are giving you issues, a good Google query for starters is “Curt Cignetti”. I’ve heard he’s easy to find, can’t remember who told me.

It costs 0 dollars to use Google and find out that this Travis guy is a national recruiting analyst for 247. If you got real good at using Google, which again is free, you could even find that he’s 203/215 (94.4%) on his picks if you were able to come up with the right search query.
