Hoosiers are red, nice thread idea Stu I think I'm making a poem But I don't think it's a haiku

    IUFB Offseason Updates

Oregon will reload, that's our "@ Ohio State" of 2025. Penn State? Man...they may reload but there's some holes in that roster coming next year. The scariest part about that game is if it becomes the whiteout. The only other option they have would be Oregon coming to town in September.

    IUFB Offseason Updates

While I agree, I think if ISU would've played Purdue anytime after October 1, that's at most a 2-score game. Both teams turned very different corners after week 1. Purdue turned theirs immediately and it was straight off a cliff.

    IUFB Offseason Updates

2025 schedule. Pretty favorable, all Saturday games. Hoping to get some friggin' 3:30/night games.

    Yeah, almost have to.

I'm not too worried about Alberto. He's still going to be a developmental RS Freshman, so I would hope his expectations aren't too high. He'll have a chance to compete in 2026 I would think because Fernando has some real NFL buzz. Definitely interesting to see what happens with Tayven in this scenario. If someone were to leave after spring ball, that room gets thin in a hurry. Even if it was Cherry/Alberto, but especially if it was Tayven.
  7. Got some Kamara to him. Listed at 6'2, was listed at 6'1 as a recruit, might be 6' even. Potential injuries like Dave found, plus not being built quite like those offering schools wanted him to be when they got their own measurements on him = proving it in the Fun Belt.

Darien Mensah to Duke. They wasted little time getting their guy.

    College Football Thread

It is simply not possible for bucknut folks to get any more lame. Maybe if they started yelling "Michigan sucks!" on a kickoff against Bowling Green in September.

    Should've been a comma. "F, Mendoza is a guy!"

I can see it. He's a good player. I've been watching some Cal stuff and he's really similar stylistically to Rourke. Cal ran a lot of quick game and RPO and picked their spots to take shots. Sounds familiar right? Like Rourke not a huge arm but he can get those wide RPO throws out to the numbers. Like Rourke again, kind of a stiff, lumbering type of runner (he seems taller and/or leaner than Rourke) but is effective moving in the pocket, stepping up and making the throw or picking up yards when needed. Will take a hit and still deliver the ball. Horrific timing on slides. His Stanford comeback was really something. He feels like a gamer and is extremely smart. Not sure how he got to Cal, but his offers coming out were basically all Ivys. Someone a while back said that if Alberto is able to develop like Fernando has then we really have something, but maybe we can have both.

A Mendoza? Or A. Mendoza? Or A. or F. Mendoza? Genuinely asking lol.

When the going gets tough, find somewhere where it might not be as tough.

Dasan McCullough back to the portal lol. At some point, maybe it isn’t about the school being picked but the one picking the school.

I’d bet they plan on bringing in 2. Cuono likely won’t be ready and like you said we just have Black and Martin.

    IUFB 2024/25 Portalstravaganza

Gotta admit, I spent the last couple offseasons keeping a really long list of IU portal entries and where they ended up. I’m MUCH more interested in who’s coming in this year. If you leave, you were probably told to. See ya!

Elijah Green to the portal. One of the first (maybe the first?) of our guys to enter this offseason.

Will be my guy until further notice or he spurns me (yes, me personally) for another school. I love this kid.

Helton has in the past, but game logs don’t really paint much of a picture one way or another. Veltkamp doesn’t have a Zappe-esque number of attempts per game and they don’t have any backs with a bunch of carries either so I’m not sure what they were doing. I watched 0 minutes and 0 seconds of WKU this year.

Not sure where you're getting that number. Unless he has a ton of fumbles I'm not seeing, it's less than half of that.

I kinda wonder if our next QB just hit the portal... Veltkamp from WKU is in. Nothing other than a gut feeling.

    2024 IUFB Season

Here's a really simple answer without watching that game again. NIU has a really good defense. According to a bunch of different metrics. If they had a remotely competent offense they would've won a MAC title. And our defense is better. These 3 sites paint the picture: https://www.bcftoys.com/ https://collegefootballdata.com/ ESPN SP+ if you have access. They're in our neighborhood in havoc, success rates per play/drive/etc, but we're ahead in all facets. Notre Dame hasn't seen a defense like ours all year.

    2024 IUFB Season

I don't believe that it's 100% accurate. For example, I think Oregon is probably way higher than 19th. I don't know how exactly they came up with this list, but it seems like a pretty good starting point at least. Even if we're top 20 that's pretty incredible.
