Job responsibilities include training football and cross country groups and assisting in all aspects of the Cougar Sports Performance Department. Anderson arrived in Houston after spending two seasons as Assistant Strength Coach at the University of Indiana. Prior to Indiana, he spent two years in the same capacity at Rice. A tight end at Kansas from 2003-04, Anderson caught 43 passes for 485 yards and three touchdowns in 21 career games. Anderson signed as a free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals and was a member of the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants practice squads. He also played for the Arena Football League's Colorado Crush. His career in strength and conditioning began in 2008 as a graduate assistant at Kansas before a seasonal intern assignment with the Denver Broncos in 2008. Following his time in Denver, Anderson spent the 2009 season as Assistant Strength Coach for Football at Youngstown State. He earned his bachelor's degree in sociology from Kansas in 2008 and has one son, King.

Ran across this blurb earlier and thought it might interest some, Shooter (Coach McClain at UIC) received a commitment from '15 Dikembe Dixson, 3* SF, #220 overall on 24/7, from Kentucky earlier in the week.   http://247sports.com/Player/Dikembe-Dixson-37398   From very cursory analysis, I believe this might be the highest ranked recruit the program has received a commitment from in a decade or so.   Appreciate Coach McClain's work with our program, and I wish him the best at UIC!

While the drama with Davis and HMP was unfolding throughout the week I was amused that MSB's twitter feed was flooded with posts and pictures of him and his family having ice cream and being goofy at a local, hometown mall.   He seems to "get it," and I wouldn't be opposed to having him around for four years.

I may regret posting this, but here goes...a close friend on campus mentioned that Yogi and Devin signed a lease at 10th and College (newer B'ton apartments near the square for you old timers  :wink: ) this past week for the upcoming school year.  Make of it what you will.
