Agree completely, I would love to see the team take a road trip to Ft. Wayne, Evansville, Terre Haute, etc. each year. Away games in friendly-ish environments can be great for the team's confidence leading into the B1G season.

(2017) SF Jordan Tucker- OV 11/30/16

Any feedback, thoughts from the visit Pap? -
Love the idea of playing in Colorado...I wonder if we could tie this into a homecoming for our incoming Colorado Mr. Basketball. UNC offered a similar homecoming to Marcus Paige when the team traveled to UNI during OOC this past fall. I would love to see the team creatively schedule to provide graduating seniors an event when possible. Maybe a roadie at Colorado/Colorado St. (Davis), VCU? (Jones), St. Johns (Green), etc. in four years...fun way to honor seniors and infuse meaningful road games into the schedule.

DJS, any thoughts on the 2 deep going into Spring Ball?

I have the utmost faith in Redding, but there were moments during Howard's absence throughout the season where the team could have used a power back for third and one-type situations. Maybe CKW sees Wilson and Rodriguez filling that role in the future? (In my mind, Majette is in the APB/Redding mold.) Congrats to J How, it truly was a pleasure watching you stomp a mudhole in Michigan's rush defense.

Goodluck Okonoboh transferring from UNLV
MemphisHoosier replied to AZ Hoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
This. If he is looking to play in Jan '17, a program that currently has an open scholly would probably have a leg up. -

Doubt it happens, but we do have an open scholly this year (thanks Emmitt) which could open the door for a mid-season addition. -

Pap, do you feel this speaks to the staff's view on how they sit with available higher priorities (Davis, Brown, and Kegler)? -

Possible 4-Star Forward Addition For This Coming Season?
MemphisHoosier replied to Naismith's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I believe Rowan is a former Pitt recruit that reclas'ed to '15 from '16 and was thought to be a heavy Louisville lean earlier in the summer, and Papagiannis was rumored to be headed overseas (Greece?). I haven't seen us connected to either to this point, but CTC never stops recruiting so who knows? Side note, I saw Austin Nichols former post from Memphis transferred to Virginia yesterday, I was hoping that we would have gotten involved in the recruitment. The Junior-to-be would have had to sit out the 15/'16 season, but he led Memphis in points and rebounds and was Burger Boy coming out of HS. -
(2016) SF Lamar Stevens to Penn State
MemphisHoosier replied to Walking Boot of Doom's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Of note, there are four programs (Penn State, SMU, Temple, and Maryland) that overlap between Carr's Top 5 and Stevens's Top 8. I am curious to see how OV shake out for each prospect given that they have voiced a desire to team up in college. -
2016 - Who Are You Hoping For?

Read that Drake will be performing at BBM this year. Hate to say it, but as a recruit that is a strong sell. -
(2016) SG Rawle Alkins to Arizona

Different player and different situation, but in some ways this recruitment is reminiscent of Theo Pinson's from a few years back, hopefully the results are different! Does anyone else get that vibe? -

This. The only reason to follow a 2015 recruitment thread, the potential for MSB musings. -

Interesting comment by Kris Wilkes about half way down the twitter screenshot... "Me you trae and Paul. That would be Nasty" Imagine a class of Wilkes, Porter, Trae Young and Paul Scruggs...that would indeed be nasty. ::Takes Deep Breath:: -

I may be in the minority here, but I like what Ty Rogers brings to the table. Yes, he can be a little wonky at times and I generally have no idea what he is talking about, but I can't remember a time when recruits posted graphics and artwork from the school prior to his arrival. I have absolutely no idea what "Glo'd Up" means, but if De'Riante Jenkins likes it...I am on board! Crimson Quarry retweeted De'Riante @ImThat_Dude15 May 27 Picture IU Made -

I generally do not put a whole lot of weight into the 247 Crystal Ball, but we picked up two predictions over the last two hours from Jerry Meyer and Drew Messmer. Hopefully the commitment materializes! -

That will leave the program a few spots to go after the Bruce Brown's, Lamar Stevens's, and the Quentin Goodin's of the world...'16 is a great year for a 5/6 man class-lots of talent! -
Now that thons off the board for this season
MemphisHoosier replied to drewheck's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Given the issues we have had in recent years retaining walk-on's year-to-year (not meant to flame anyone, just a casual observation), this sends a great message. Come in, work hard, and if the chips fall...the program may be able to offer you a B1G scholarship your senior year. -
Weak Indiana HS Senior Class
MemphisHoosier replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Could be wrong here, but I get the impression that the program, like many others, has intentionally stayed out of Chicago due to the nature, $$$$$, of recruiting the region. This is not to say recruiting in NY, Maryland, etc. is any cleaner, but dirty recruiting in Chicago seems to be a more accepted belief. Izzo commented about recruiting the area earlier in the year, and his thoughts, in my mind, were very telling... http://www.freep.com/story/sports/college/michigan-state/spartans/2015/03/10/tom-izzo-michigan-state-recruiting/24709699/ "MSU reportedly was the longtime leader for the Chicago big man, but Alexander abruptly cut off contact in the fall of 2013 and committed to Kansas. Shortly after that, Izzo was asked at Big Ten basketball media day in Chicago about recruiting in that city. (He also had lost out on Chicagoans Jabari Parker (Duke, class of 2013), Jahlil Okafor (Duke, 2014) and Tyler Ulis (Kentucky, 2014)). "Good players, a lot of coaches, a lot of coaches and good players," Izzo said of recruiting Chicago, then added: "There's a lot of middlemen." -
