    2021 General Recruiting Thread

Has Cardell McFarland's name been thrown around for the coaching vacancy? I ask because he has connections with both of the targets, experience in skill development, and pro-experience overseas.

    IU Baseball 2019 Recruiting Class

Add another grad transfer to the 2020 roster - Collin Hopkins, catcher, from WKU. Looks like he started a the majority of games this past season, I am not sure if there is any positional flexibility. https://wkusports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1777 @collin_hopkins7 FollowFollow @collin_hopkins7 More The path hasn’t been straight but I know I’ve always been where I needed to be. I’m happy to say that I’ve committed to Indiana University to play my final year of college baseball. College Bball Thread

I know I should cheer for the B1G in OOC games to help our SOS, but I wouldn't be sad to see the Longhorns and Wildcats start Purdue and Illinois off with an L.

    Depth Chart

Great insight @lucel15, what's your read on the rotation at RB? Between Stevie, Cole, Ronnie, and Sampson...I don't see enough carries to keep everyone happy - and all four are exceptionally talented.

(2021) G Luke Brown to Ball State

Outstanding watch, thanks for sharing. I may have to swing up to Hartford City this season to catch a game.

(2021) PF Trey Kaufman to Purdue

If Kaufman continues to progress, always a big 'if' with 16 & 17 year olds, I could see him entering the Top 50 if not 25 for 2021. The young man is a special talent for sure.

    2020 General Recruiting Thread

I believe he has visited a few times for games & Hoosier Hysteria over the past two seasons.
  8. Appears their only cancelled game was an OOC game vs. UC Irvine, see below. I am not sure why they have a scheduling discrepancy? http://warrennolan.com/baseball/2019/schedule/Michigan

Looks like Kansas may have the early lead on Wilson per the Crystal Ball.

    Samari Curtis (2019) to Nebraska

Why bother posting this? We got it. Recruiting is tough right now and you aren't happy - but whats the value in posting this drivel?
  11. Not to mention the 'hot & cold attention' to recruits from CTC & his staff. I don't recall the '18 recruit, maybe Hunter or Henry, who mentioned the previous staff would be all over him and then silence so he had no idea where he stood with the program - as a HS player, coach, advisor, etc. this level of uncertainty would drive me up the wall.
  12. Eloquent, well-articulated post @Stuhoo! I have been churning on a few of your inputs for some time, but failed to 'see the forest from the trees.' One thread that I am still wondering about is the role of a traditional transfer that would sit a year and have multiple years of eligibility, e.g. a Josh Newkirk sit-one, play two, in Archie's system. I could see value there in (1) bringing in potential experience & skill, (2) not disrupting team chemistry for one year, and (3) continuing to develop regional ties.

    (2018) SG Austin Boucher

For those interested, Lewis plays in the GLVC w/a number of local teams e.g. University of Indianapolis and University of Southern Indiana, so you may have an opportunity to see Mr. Boucher live. Fun!

6'6" Juzang would be in addition to Allen & Whitney, both around 6'6" to 6'8", it will be interesting to see how minutes shake out.

    2019 Coaching Carousel

Spoke too soon...now Alford is down to ONE returning scholarship player. Only additional verbal/signed player(s) for next year is a JUCO wing who previously played at Akron. https://verbalcommits.com/schools/nevada

Brannen is a tremendous coach, will be interesting to see how he handles the AAC.

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

This is where I am as well. Fortunately I can see a world where we take Brunk, Windham and a traditional 1 yr Grad Transfer that can handle the ball next season. The three would (1) shore up the front & back country while providing Windham an opportunity to RS as well as (2) provide class balance for 2020 forward.

    IUFB Offseason Updates

OLB Mo Burnam who has entered the transfer portal and TE Shaun Bonner are no longer with the program. https://hoosierhuddle.com/hoosier-blog/spring-practice-no-12-observations-and-quotes/2019/4/6 Disappointing, I had high hopes for Burnam.

    College Bball Thread

Read this afternoon that Jalen Adaway is transferring from Miami (OH). 6'5" Sophomore wing from Logansport who started 15 games this season for the Redhawks. KenPom has him at a 111 ORTG (very good) with a very solid eFG (54.0) & low turnover rate this season. Not sure he is a B1G contributor, but a name to watch this offseason. http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/jalen-adaway
  22. Really curious to see how the minutes shake out in Lexington next season, there are sure to be some hurt feelings with three incoming recruits b/w 6'6" and 6'7" plus the returnees.
  23. According to Verbal Commits, linked below, MSU is set at 13 for next season. I wouldn't say we are in the 'clear' - scholarships are fluid with early entries (Cassius? Ward?) & transfers. Net, if Brooks wants to go to MSU, they will gladly take him and figure out the scholarships later. https://verbalcommits.com/schools/michigan-state

    IU Football 2019 Recruiting Class

Kristian Williams is a bit of a surprise for me, I thought following his commitment to Minney we wouldn't hear about him until the start of B1G play. With that said...I would love to have him in B'ton.
