Checking out KenPom today, of the team's 20 B1G games - 12 are Tier A, 8 are Tier B, and 0 games are outside of Tier A & B. After today's match-up in Lincoln, CAM will have 10 Tier A and 4 Tier B games remaining. We should know if this team has legitimate March aspirations very soon. -

Osterman mentioned this on the most recent Crimson Cast pod w/Galen, paraphrasing here - CTA has a little room left on the roster (1-3 spots, before Anderson's addition), the staff is actively mining the transfer portal with a focus on both sides of the line (OL/DL) and best available talent where it makes sense for the roster -

BOOM! All eyes are on Crider, Johnson and Whop now. -
I would love to get him back on campus as an Offensive GA next Fall.

I am not sure how newsworthy this is, but we are officially in the offseason. DL Tramar Reece has entered his name into the transfer portal. I don't recall seeing his name often on the 2-deep or in the box score. Maybe some of the more plugged in posters can provide more comprehensive perspective on the move, but I would assume this is about playing time and getting in a situation closer to home (FL)? https://247sports.com/Player/Tramar-Reece-89334/

2020 IUFB Prediction League - Outback Bowl vs Ole Miss Sat 1/2/21 12:30pm ABC

Indiana 35 Ole Miss 24 -
After listening to the Hoosier Huddle podcast the hosts got me thinking about who are the most likely choices for Outback Bowl MVP. There are a number of very reasonable, smart directions to take here, e.g. Ole' Miss's defense isn't great so you should expect big games from Tuttle and Fryfogle/Whop/Hendershot, or that Sheridan will run the ball down Kiffin's throat and go with a heavy dose of Scott/James/Baldwin. On the flip-side, Corral threw, what, 5 INT's vs. LSU last time out so a big MVP level performance from a Mullen/Johnson/Williams/Fitzgerald or McFadden wouldn't surprise me. To kick-off the thread I will go with Stevie Scott for two reasons (1) CTA and Sheridan will get points on the board and want to control the pace of the game to keep Corral off the field and (2) Ole Miss allows >200 rush yards/games (one of the 25 worst rush D's across all conferences), they allowed 26 rushing TD's this season (4th most,) and they just fired their D-Line coach. Who do you think will be the Outback Bowl MVP?

Mods feel free to move this as appropriate, but it looks like CTA added a piece to the OL. Zach Carpenter is a RS FR from UM who announced his intent to transfer on 12/10 and his commitment to IU this evening, 12/31. Few notable points from his UM bio, https://mgoblue.com/sports/football/roster/zach-carpenter/21302, below: Sophomore (2020) • Made collegiate debut playing center at Minnesota (Oct. 24) • Contributed on special teams at Minnesota (Oct. 24), Wisconsin (Nov. 14), at Indiana (Nov. 7) • Made his first career start at center on the road at Rutgers (Nov. 21) (I love seeing high level B1G experience) Freshman (2019) • Named the team's Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year • Named Scout Team Offensive Player of the Week for his role in preparing the defense for Notre Dame (Shows the kid is ready to come in and work from day one) Prep • Attended Archbishop Moeller High School (2019) coached by Doug Rosfeld • Third player in Moeller High School history to start on varsity as a freshman • Became the first junior captain in school history (I highlight this because Moeller is consistently a nationally recognized prep program, this speaks volumes)

100% I vaguely remember him at TTU keeping concussed players in janitorial closets - I am sure I am butchering the details here.

The Pirate strikes again. Is he the #1 Anti-LEO Coach? Might be a great offseason debate...

Potential New DC About To Happen?
MemphisHoosier replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
N=1 here...but given CTA's track record with Coordinators I wouldn't be surprised to see Coach Jason Jones, current Safeties Coach, elevated to DC. He has (1) experience leading the 4-2-5, (2) a strong relationship with CTA, and (3) ample experience coaching & recruiting including recruiting in the south, see below. -

Moore is a fairly big loss - second best receiver in the SEC & a semifinalist for Biletnikoff Award. https://www.oxfordeagle.com/2020/12/17/elijah-moore-kenny-yeboah-opt-out-remainder-of-2020-ole-miss-football-season/ -
You had me intrigued here so I pulled Smith's '20/'21 KenPom usage, and you are 100% right @Stuhoo pretty much the same player. Unrelated, but it looks like Coach Muss is following the Crean scheduling map - fun!
