Judging by CTA's twitter message this morning, I believe he is already addressing this situation. I don't want to make excuses, but with 85'ish scholarship athletes, walk-on's, and staff events like this are unfortunately going to occur. You hope your program learns from it and gets better as a whole.

(2021) WR Malachi Bennett to Indiana
MemphisHoosier posted a topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
It appears that the team is picking up some positive momentum with WR Malachi Bennett from Alabama, a former UAB commit, with two recent Crystal Ball picks from Matt Weaver & Steve Wiltfong. Solid list of offers b/w Georgia, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Tennessee. 247 Shows that his uncle, Earl Bennett, played in the league as well which is always fun. https://247sports.com/Player/Malachi-Bennett-46054167/ https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2021/malachi-bennett-235252 http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/243798/malachi-bennett -
For those that follow #IUFB recruitment, I noticed that Randy Charlton (remember him?!) transfered from UCF to Mike Leach's MSU squad a few weeks ago. I was bummed when he decommitted from CTA back in December 2017, he seemed like a great young man with a solid skill set on the edge, but if I recall correctly, there was pressure from home keeping him in Florida which eventually landed him at UCF. Either way, it's always fun to see an old recruiting name resurface!

That's fair, I could 100% see that happening in the right situation. Thad has tremendous midwest connections in the HS & grassroots scenes as well. -

That's where you and I differ, my friend. There is a very big difference b/w dropping a bag for a recruit (which we can have a discussion about how fair/unfair the NCAA is today) and covering up a rape. As a father, husband, brother, and son - it irks me that I have to state this. -

That's cool. I am just a bit surprised to see Avery Johnson as your #2, but it makes sense seeing as how he crushed it at Alabama in his four years - w/one 20 win season and one NCAA tournament appearance. But I guess he could make a better successor than the '60+ Club' candidates you have at #1, JB, & #4, Altman. Oh yeah, don't get me started on your #3 candidate, Alford, and his experience in Iowa City, please feel free to Google 'Pierre Pierce 2002 sexual assault cover-up.' Other than that..your list gets a gold star LCS = ) -

@Nashville Hoosier Out of my own pure morbid curiosity, which names are you hearing floated around Knoxville at this point?

Indiana Hires Georgia DB coach Charlton Warren as DC
MemphisHoosier replied to iubb's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
This. I read an article yesterday, I believe from the Herald Times?, that mentioned Coach Warren's nickname when he played at the Academy was Mr. Intensity. Does this sound like anyone anyone else we know on the staff ; ) Net, I can't speak to the man's defensive play-calling acumen, but he (1) comes from an organization with strong values and (2) has a strong pedigree of recruiting excellence. If nothing else, I trust CTA on that side of the ball to make it work. -

Lots of positive IU picks rolling in on the 247 Crystal Ball for Mr. Gunn incl. Snow, Meyer, and Peegs. -

This is probably a long shot, but what do we put the odds at that CAM would 'walk-away'/take another gig after this season? 5% or so? I know he has a great deal of pride, but I am sure the last four years have been brutal on him and his young family. -
@8bucks, man...you must be sitting right behind me brother - I was dumbfounded watching them play, ha!

Nate Oats can coach, that's for sure. Not to derail the thread, but his Alabama squad's advanced stats are solid on both ends of the court.

2021 5th Yr/Sr Decisions
MemphisHoosier replied to MemphisHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I hate to say it, but the shelf life on RB's is far too short. I don't begrudge Scott for leaving unpaid eligibility on the table. With that said, I wonder if the incoming RB Coach will look into the transfer market? James, Baldwin, and Ellis make a nice core, but I would love to add another experienced rusher to the room. -
Looks to be official now.

In all fairness, I believe this season was his 5th year of college (four at Stanford, one at IU.) So he may be 'ready' to start the next chapter of his life - NFL or not. I am glad we had an opportunity to have the young man in Bloomington, and wish him nothing but the best moving forward in his future endeavors. https://gostanford.com/sports/football/roster/jovan-swann/16090 -
