This brings up an interesting point, Archie coached under Thad for three seasons at OSU, '07-'09. Is there a sense of 'loyalty' that would keep Thad from interviewing/taking the IU job in light of Archie's recent dismissal? I have no insight into the coaching fraternity so I am just throwing it out there.

Does anyone remember how/why Matta lost his 2016/2017 squads? Up until that point, his program was really humming, was it purely physical limitations impacting other aspects of his life? His KenPom profile is fascinating to sat the least, he was on a HoF trajectory - until it wasn't?

In one of the podcasts this week, sorry there have been too many to credit correctly, I believe Ryan Phillips compared Muss to Jim Harbaugh's tenure at Stanford and with the Niners. He mentioned that he produces immediate results, but has a grating personality that will run its course over time. Again this was one perspective, but I thought I could see it holding meriting based on some of Muss's television antics e.g. 'squeeze Colgate', shirts off, etc.

Agreed, they are really clicking - I could easily see a Gonzaga vs. Illinois championship given how well the two squads are playing.

Probably fair, but I do wonder what Cooley could with Indiana's resources. Consistently wins 19+ games and gets his squads into the tournament in a big boy conference often times with arguably lesser talent. I don't see him as the savior, but his teams play real hard and deliver.
