Based on CMW's comments last week during his radio show and what transpired in the game on Saturday I would assume Leal. But it's a great question....

Correct me if I am wrong, but he is the smaller back that was primarily used for pass catching, return game, etc? If so, I would love to have him - he was a team captain and by all accounts a culture creator on the team.

100% - I recall the prep debate b/w Franklin & Brandon Newman a few years back, and I was hopeful we would ultimately land Newman purely on his shooting acumen at the time. There was a narrative circulating that Franklin may have been a bit closer with TJD so that may have influenced the previous staff's focus & prioritization.

I am with you - my perception of the Zags has changed drastically over the years, most recently with the Few DUI suspension earlier this summer with what amounted to a slap on the wrist - 2 exhibition games & the season opener. Makes sense - with the Under Armor deep pockets paired with NIL opportunities I could see the university making a move away from Mediocre Mark if the status quo doesn't change. A situation to watch for sure...

I haven't watched the Terps this season, but looking at the box score tonight and browsing their KenPom profile...do their issues stem from the three point arc - not being able to make shots nor defend it? For the season Ayala is 12-42 (28.6%), Scott 5-19 (26.3%)...those two actually have the strongest (?) numbers of their starters (yikes).

100% - watching these young men on the court, you can clearly see they are 'building towards something,' which is a feeling that I rarely felt over the previous 3-5 seasons or so.

Our KenPom adjusted efficiencies for the season would back this up as well - #8 (!) in the country for defense & and #70 for offense.
