They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
wirenuts replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Woodson is 66 years old. I have to assume there was going to be a cycle to replace him sooner than later that has or will be discussed. I'm not talking about his system failing or his coaching acumen. I think IU should start this cycle and if elite coaches don't want the job, then you hire Schertz or may before another program does and start fresh I think IU doesn't want to replicate the failure of hiring an Archie Miller but Miller was considered a home run hire when it was announced. It was just the wrong guy, with the wrong personality, with the wrong system. I believe the other two have better systems and much better personalities to handle the job -

Also from what I was told by a former IU management person was that he absolutely loved to tell everybody in the administration how to do their jobs and was a complete micro managing pain in the @$$ to boot -

No I don't think they have any amazing insider info either. There were 2 that acted like MM is a lock but I haven't seen either of the 2 post for hours. -

247sports ku sports board. As said above it isn't anything too terrible, they were just so sure of themselves earlier and the tone changed slightly. I don't think they know anything any more than this board does at this point. It was just fun reading -

I don't know what it is but I do know that the smug posts from the KU board changing to confusion and sadness is spectacular lol -

Hell yes. If it is even close to as good as BOTW it will be an absolute classic. -

If I remember correctly the ESPN article mentioned Tom crean being really happy when finding out Adidas was going to start helping. I'm sure it was at the end of his tenure. If that is the case, was it that crean only wanted to play the game when he knew he was gonna be fired for non performance, or was it that Indiana tried to play the game only to be knocked down by their own shoe company? With friends like that, who needs enemas? -

Seems like Adidas in general favors Louisville and Kansas over teams like IU. I'm not sure that is how it is but the impression that I have. It kinda begs the question of why IU still has an Adidas contract if players are going to be steered away. Not complaining, just an observation -
Very nice. The mays and Aaron's look to be in pretty good shape too

Coaching Changes Nationally
wirenuts replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I moved from edgewood to tbird County when I was 12 or 13. I was about 3 years younger than Dusty but he was always really nice to me in the basketball camps or when I was playing ball. I'm really happy for him that he is having so much success as a coach. He is a basketball junkie for sure and always has been -

I went to the same high school as Dusty. He was a little older but he has always been a winner, and a pretty good guy to boot -
Other than the high taxes, it sounds pretty perfect

They were on a definite downward trend...but then the pandemic happened. Since then values have skyrocketed. It has dropped back down a little since but it is still very popular

Yes. I had a few of them growing up but never the magic/bird combo.

Piece of metal with holes in the middle that are used in the rafters to support pipe so that they can be clamped down. The strut itself should have been clamped down too though -

saw somebody mentioned Tom crean so if we are not talking about a price range- why not hire ronald nored away from the pacers?
-
so is there any chance they can make a wrong a right and possibly ask Michael Lewis to come to IU? or he is too entrenched where he is at?

Big Ten Coaches Likeability
wirenuts replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I dislike Tom izzo almost as much as any college coach in the country. so he would be the my most disliked coach in the BIG. and its not a close race either. Underwood cries way too much about everything so he is #2 and he coaches Illinois so bonus points I dont like anything about Howard #3 Gard #4 just cause his players are such douches 5 is mccaffrey by default even though i think he needs to stay in the big ten so Iowa never amounts to anything and for comic relief looking at his face -
yes colts fans are extremely spoiled. I think the colts have a few more holes than just QB and I dont see a whole lot of QBS this year that are an obvious upgrade from wentz considering what they are gonna have to pay to get them. The WR room isn't deep, the last two teams had weapons at WR1-3 and a good to great TE
