I personally don't care about the ranking, I just want IU to go bowling! That would be a success in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I hope vonleh does well and I'll be rooting for him, as I root for all Hoosiers. I'm not sure what vonleh may or may not have said to his buddies or whoever. Maybe he just said crean didn't use him correctly. Is there anybody who thinks crean used Noah correctly or got him the ball enough? I don't, and if that's what Noah said then I don't blame him a bit Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Good player, good luck. We should have known it was going to happen. It's not the coaches that are to blame for these one and dones. It's the NBA. In my opinion, if the NBA isn't going to make a higher age requirement than what they have, just get rid of the one and done philosophy and lower the age limit once again. That way, kids who actually want to build their game and their education will have the scholarship to do so. One and done rule is ridiculous. End rant. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Indiana is on the NIT Bubble...
Problem is though you need a big that can keep the D from cheating out on the shooters, think the year before we had Zeller. Perea has ways to go before I'd trust him, yeah he had a good game late in the year (Nebraska?) but the D didn't seem too concerned about him on the court. So really, we'll be replacing a need of shooters with the need of a good big. We'll be better, but I've seen some fans think we'll contend for a title and I can't see that. I think an early exit would realistically be the ceiling.
agreed but the post said the same as this year. So they will be a little better, hopefully. I don't see championships in anything though for next year Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Give him another year with consistent shooters and see how he does Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Like Crean said, "It's Indiana, it's Indiana". We shouldn't have seasons like this past one, and next season won't be any better without Vonleh. We also under performed last year in the tourney with the talent and experience we had. It all falls on Crean, and being a blueblood this is not acceptable.
i respectfully disagree with the wont be any better part. Everything else was spot on. The shooters we have coming in will space out the floor better, and make an offense much easier to run. We will miss Noah and his rebounding for sure, no doubt about it. Noah wasn't utilized effectively by the coach, and Perea can avg 5 shots a game. I also hope yogi, Stan, devin, and Troy wear out their practice cards. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Indiana is on the NIT Bubble...
wirenuts replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This season sucked. I could be wrong on the exact year but it reminds me of another iu team: the 84-85 squad. Didn't make the tournament, the team damn near had coach knight go into early retirement. I think everybody knows how the next 2 years went. As a perennial Chicago cubs fan, I always say, wait till next year. With the three shooters coming in, I think next years team will be considerably better than this years. Even without Noah. So cheer up. Gotta be optimistic about next year. That's what supporting a team is about. Hope for the future. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
We honestly have the talent to win the damn thing... I just pray we don't hang a banner if we do. (Joking)
i truly don't believe that a team that doesn't have consistent three point shooters will win any tournament. IU has talent and athleticism but that doesn't mean anything if they are not somewhat balanced. It makes their offense one dimensional (running blindly at the rim, one guy dribbles-4 guys watch), and I think all of the potential I see at IU for next year lie in the three freshman shooters. If they are good, IU will be a tough out. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
If we landed Phil Jackson as coach I don't think we'd ever have to be concerned about recruiting again. Just say Phil Jackson is the coach, and kids would flock here. Obviously this would never happen, but man what could be
so you wouldn't want brad Stevens because he never coached at UCLA or Kansas? Some of these mid-major coaches are a whole lot better than are given credit for. Crews knows how to run a functional offensive set so that puts him well above crean in my book Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
I'll tell you this, Fred Glass is the same AD that kept Lynch around an extra year. Do you really think he's getting rid of a coach who is one season off of an outright BIG title? Especially since we owe Crean so much money. This is 100% false. Sorry if this got anyone's hopes up.
yep, spot on. There is absolutely no way they will buy off crean. Crean will definitely be on the hot seat this next year, but I just don't see iu shipping him off with millions. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

First, I don't think indiana wants to send the message that they will fire a coach that loses so many players from the previous year. That's a bad message to send to other coaches around the country. Also, how many recruits would they lose if they decide to do that? If, hypothetically this were to happen, I'm not sure Woodson would be best choice. Personally I think Jim crews, Calvert cheaney would be better choices. Just my opinion Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
