After the 12 game stretch, there was quite a bit of positive momentum. No, they did not make the tournament, and came out really flat against wichita st but they also beat some really good teams in the next set of games after that stretch. There is no substitute for a strong work ethic. I feel as though quite a few players did not have that, and with the injuries that they had, I'm suprised that they were able to beat the teams that they did. This was one of the poorest shooting teams that I can remember at IU, hands down. Virginia just showed what the ceiling is for a team that can defend and shoot. This next year's team needs improvement in shooting in the worst way, and I believe that they will get that. Archie is the guy, we need patience.....

That's a fine line, honestly...what does it say to future 5 star recruits if he does make him play, especially if he knows that player is gonna go pro. Maybe future recruits would pass on Indiana after seeing that. I'm not saying it would or wouldnt happen, but I could see both sides

He had to take a chance on fitzner because of his perceived shooting touch. Obviously that hasnt panned out but I truly believe archie had to have seen the deficiencies of the team from the get go. Anderson could be another really good shooter, I think phinisee will grow into a great shooter. You have to take Langford. Period. Whether he is a fit or not. I think Hunter, as somebody said above, would probably be the closest prototypical archie player. The three crean recruits that he signed, in my opinion, was because he felt it was the right thing to do. I don't believe that archie would have recruited them on his own. But I don't know. Pure speculation

Along with that reasoning, what coach in their right mind would take a job that wouldnt give them at least three years to implement a system, find the Right recruits for that system and start seeing results?

These other coaches around the league figured Indiana out. It isnt that difficult to figure out. 2 players are great finishers around the rim but pretty much the entire team has glaring deficiencies shooting the ball....that is the IU season in a nutshell, in my opinion. This team is completely and utterly one dimensional
