I heard that the Mad Ants are making it Hoosier Hysteria night. If you wear IU gear to the game, you get half priced tickets. Thinking I am gonna make the trip up there for it.

I heard Danny Kannel on the radio today talk a little bit about Cordell's recruitment. He said that Snoop is extremely involved in his sons football life and recruiting. Apparently he called and talked to Bishop Gormans coach everyday about his sons performance and ways to get him the ball more. Snoop also talks to all the coaches that are recruiting him and has told them that he would like to be very involved in the football program and the development of his son.   I would assume that this is why ND has completely stopped recruiting Cordell and I would imagine it is giving hesitation to Sark at USC as well. I doubt too many coaches want to have to answer to Snoop about how to get his son the ball more after every Saturday.    This ends my weekly Cordell Broadus recruiting update. Good Day.  :D

Just what I read on Rivals. Most of those guys are pretty well connected with a certain program, especially in California for some reason. But multiple USC and UCLA ppl said that they do not think they will accept a commitment from him. He must be real trouble to have ran those two schools off of him.  And this is not coming from mods on rivals, just posters on the Main Board. But these dudes follow football recruiting like it is religion, but are also crazy as hell, so take it for what its worth.

Side note on Broadus. I guess USC and UCLA have both stopped recruiting him and will not accept a commitment from him. I guess they were advised to run far far away from this kid because he is nothing but trouble. If I had to guess, ASU will be his landing spot. They will take anyone.

Yeah that school is amazing. If you want to see something amazing, just Google Bishop Gorman facilities. It is unbelievable what they have going on there. They have top notch recruits in every single class there. Current ND LT and possible 1st round pick next year went there. There is a 4* TE who is committed to UCLA. I believe there QB is a soph or jr and he is being highly recruited. Also, there head football coach, Tony Sanchez, also just made the jump from High School to Div 1 at UNLV. Last coach to do that was Chip Kelly. 

Yeah he is most likely a lock to USC. He is teammates with a ND commit (Fertitta) and he tried his hardest to get him to ND. There is no way he leaves the left coast. I like the enthusiasm tho!!

I saw a quote from him after the game that said the visit "was everything he thought it would be and more". That game atmosphere was absolutely insane Saturday night too. Everything that has happened so far is worst case scenario for IU. The schools, football wise, are much different. But he won't have the same opportunities at Penn St as he will at IU. Kevin Wilson better make him his #1 priority and make sure this one doesn't get away from him. Time to show his recruiting muscle.

James Franklin is testifying in court today regarding the rape case at Vanderbilt. Said he lied to team about seeing video, and has never actually saw it. Not real sure why you would lie about that but....he's  a scumbag so I wouldn't be surprised by anything.

Yup, more picks than TD's. In his defense though, he doesn't have much talent around him. He is still an above average QB in the B1G, and he is only a true sophomore. 

Just a little tidbit I read on Rivals this morning. Mike Farrell, who is the recruiting director at Rivals (and IMO a hack) has said since Wimbush's flip from PSU, that they will possibly  try and go after Tommy Stevens. Just something I read in an article so I have no idea the truth to it. Yeah the writing was on the wall after his visit. After he left South Bend he told a reporter from Rivals that he needed to go home and spend the next 24 hours "rethinking his life decisions". After he said that, I was pretty confident he was gonna flip. Thats 2 4* recruits that ND has flipped from PSU this recruiting cycle, with Josh Barajas from Andrean being the other.  :cheese: @ PSU

ND was never going to extend an offer to Stevens. Like I said before, the only QB out there that was still looking around that ND would take was Wimbush. Kid is an absolute stud. Looks alot like Everett Golson out of High School, just bigger. Glad ND got him to flip because I highly dislike PSU and ND needed a QB this cycle. They were thinking about passing on one this year, but that is a tough thing to do and the last time ND did it, they were stuck with Tommy Rees at QB. Nobody wants to go through that again.

When he was at Vandy, he had a couple commitments back off of their commitment. He came out and said "They were not men of integrity, or men of honor". Then when he first got to Penn St., he flipped two commits and tried to explain to people why it was OK for them to flip.    He was also in the middle of a pretty sketchy rape case at Vandy. Its all a bunch of hearsay, but apparently he knew about a video that one of the players involved had and told him to delete it so it wouldn't be released to the law or the public.   Another message board I am apart of has multiple Penn St fans on there that have had interactions with JF and said he is condescending unless you have something to offer.    I have heard good things about a lot of coaches, hell even Urban Meyer, but I have not heard a single good thing about Franklin. Just not a big fan.

Yeah he was visiting with coaches and other teammates who are all big ND fans I guess. No offense to this kid, but ND had another QB committed elsewhere (PSU, Brandon Wimbush) visiting Saturday and he is probably the only take of any QB left out there for ND. Stevens doesn't really fit Kelly's offense. I would much rather steal a recruit from James "Scumbag" Franklin than IU anyway. 

From what I have heard, from being a ND FB fan, is ND is not seriously considering this kid as a recruit. He has visited a few times but I think that was just out of courtesy for his brother, Drue. I would imagine he would rather go to IU than Notre Dame. If ND were to offer though, it would be tough to turn it down.

In the next collective bargaining agreement they have to do away with these huge contracts. The MLB is the last major sport in this country to not have a max contract length or dollar amount and its about time they make that change. These contracts will never ever ever work in the benefit of the team.

I think it is a must for a Cubs fan to say, "This is the year", every year. It doesn't matter if we mean it or not. I don't think THIS year is our year, as the saying goes. I think NEXT year is the year the Cubs start competing

Cubs fan, obviously <<<---. I think the addition of Clark the Cub is gonna do wonders for the franchise, he brings a real winning attitude to the clubhouse and I am looking forward to that.    In all seriousness though, one more year of heartache in Wrigleyville then the Cubbies will start competing, at least they will be able to score runs to compete. Most of the pitching will need to come through free agency, but the offense is looking like it could be top notch in a couple years.
