    Robert Johnson

I say we go Yogi, Blackmon, Troy, Vonleh, and Lyles. Their bigs won't be able to match up with the versatility of ours. Rotate Fischer in as needed. Who are these April, Priller, and Holt guys you mentioned?    Oh sorry...was I talking in my sleep again?    In all honesty I think starting Holt is a bad move. We'd be trying to match their size and play their game, which I don't see going well. Start Zeisloft, play our game and make them adjust. All predicated on us making shots of course. If we don't....oh boy. Sounds like RoJo will be okay anyway.

Stephen Zimmerman down to IU & UK???

I'm aware. That's been the exception to the rule. Again, I hope I'm wrong.

Stephen Zimmerman down to IU & UK???

Why? Because I'm looking at it realistically? I hope I'm wrong, but what evidence is there lately that we have any shot whatsoever against a big name program for a huge recruit right now? Especially UK? Blackmon was the exception to the rule....and since then.....??? Didn't he even say as he was making his announcement he was still really torn on which hat he was going to pull out? So its not like we ran away with the lead in his recruitment. Think its ridiculous if you want, and I hope it ends up being ridiculous. But in reality, as it stands now....its not.

Stephen Zimmerman down to IU & UK???

This isn't even good news if it is true. We'd just lose another big recruit while being in their final two, this time to UK to pour salt in the wound. I'd rather just not even make his top 5.

    #USMNT - 2014 World Cup

That would be very cool. All of the EPL transfer and loan rumors are insane to try to follow. But still fun to see where players might land. I just hope Everton can come up with a solid option to replace Lukaku.    That's a bummer that Indy's team had such a tough start. Nashville's team is actually at the top of their table in just the first year! Again, its the NPSL (4th tier), but still pretty cool.

    #USMNT - 2014 World Cup

It's crazy b/c my wife grew up playing soccer and ever since we met she has occasionally tried to get me in to the game, but I blew it off b/c I had that "slow and boring" uninformed mentality towards it. She didn't have a pro team that she followed or anything, mainly b/c it was not something I was in to, but now its something we share as a hobby together and I actually feel ridiculous for my attitude towards it for so long. I was way wrong. We are doing the same thing with our friends and slowly converting them as well. The WC will help for sure but some have already picked a team like we did...Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, some more Everton fans, so it should make for a fun club season. I've been amazed at the support Nashville FC is getting so far. For the first year of a 4th tier team I expected a few hundred people out for games but we've had over 1800 at each of our first two home games! Which is capacity for the venue we play in right now. I never expected they'd have to start looking for a bigger venue only halfway through the first season. I hear that the Indy Eleven team is getting some really solid support as well which is great to hear.

    #USMNT - 2014 World Cup

I can't wait for the WC. I was not a soccer fan at all up until about 6 months ago. Got curious, did some research on the EPL and how European leagues are set up, picked a team (Everton), and started following on Saturday and Sunday mornings. It started as another hobby, and now I absolutely cannot get enough. I was always intrigued about how the world's most popular sport could be maybe the 7th or 8th most popular in the US? We missed the boat for sure. Someone earlier in the thread said soccer was too slow and boring. I used to have that typical American attitude as well. But its simply just not taking the time to understand the game. Once I did, its an absolutely fascinating sport that (like I said earlier) I cannot get enough of. Right now I hate that I can't wake up on Saturday and Sunday mornings and flip on NBC Sports network for some footy. My wife and I are going to Italy in September and we're going to catch a Serie A game if we can. There is a NPSL (4th tier) team that started here just this season that is 100% supporter owned so my wife and I both bough founder's memberships as well. The sport is certainly growing here! Anyway, I've rambled enough.    Go USA! Go Everton! Go Nashville FC!

    Brian Knorr Named New DC

I think its pretty short sighted to just look at the school they came from. Dalton makes some good points in the post above. FSU and Clemson were the only teams to score more than 28 on WF last year. We gave up more than 30 points in 10 of our 12 games. As well, in our 7 losses, had we given up 30 points or less, it would have made the difference in 3 games. Which is 8-4...a result I think we'd all very happily take. Now I know its not as just that simple, there are several factors that will play in. But I think, face value, this is a good hire. The point has been made, we don't have to have a stellar D, just a good one.    Another couple of points. He has actually been a D coordinator. The scenarios you bring up about getting someone from a big name school...well first we'd never get their D coordinator unless they were fired. So I assume you'd be talking about a position coach. Its a big gamble to throw them in as a D coordinator working with much less talent than the place they came from. Which brings up my next point. Coming from Wake Forest, this guy is used to working with inferior talent. If he can get us to where we are only giving up 24-27 points per game.....that's a huge win.
