I wouldn't be shocked to see Keel or Cobbs get some early PT at the other WR spot. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
I agree. Money shouldn't have tried to dictate and Pac probably should've agreed on the test, but Pac came back out before the JMM loss and agreed to the drug test and a 45-55 cut. Can't remember what Money's excuses was after that. He doesn't like Arum or something.
I can't remember what exactly the excuse was either. I don't think either wanted the fight as bad as they once claimed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I think it's mutual. If either wanted to fight as bad as they claimed they could have just accepted the others terms. It may have put them in a bad spot but personally I've grown tired of the PAC/Money situation. I think Pac's recent losses killed any chance of a fight. Money's in a lose/lose situation. If they fight and he wins most will claim PAC would have won a few years ago while if he loses then well that's pretty self explanatory. I would have and still would root for Money but Im to the point I either want them to fight, stop mentioning each other, or just retire. But this back and forth drama has got old and they've got no one to blame but the man in the mirror. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

IU Football 2014 Recruiting Class
I don't know what to expect this year. I had high hopes for last year, but the defense was depressing. I sometimes wondered if putting blindfolds on the lot of them would have improved their play. Let's hope Knorr works out. If we can get marginal improvement on that side of the ball, and the schedule is favorable again, we might have a chance to see a bowl game. I've haven't heard. Did Sudfeld transfer?
Nope, Coffman did transfer though. On another note I hear Greg Miclisse wants to commit to IU they're just waiting to check his academics. I'm not entirely sure what's going on but I wouldn't turn him down. Edit: now I see CCG already mentioned it lol. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I think we've got a solid class and I like the emphasis put on defense recruiting. I'm in a bowl or bust mood for IUFB next season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
I figured I'd throw out a blind resume for you all... Team A: 14-6 overall record, 54 RPI, 2-3 vs. RPI top 50, SOS: 65 Team B: 14-8 overall record, 65 RPI, 2-4 vs. RPI top 50, SOS: 57 One team is considered in, the other is considered out. I'll let you speculate how much Strength of Schedule should matter in determining position in the tournament.
I'd go with Team A. Like Hovadipo said there's not a big enough difference in the SOS and that extra loss vs RPI top 50 by Team B gave me the slight edge to Team A. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
There are so many capable teams this year and it's really hard to pick at this point in the year. I think that Kansas and Michigan State(at full strength) are the best teams in the country. So for that reason I'll put those 2 in. I'll go with Kansas, MSU, Syracuse, Creighton (gotta love Dougie) I need to wait on Arizona to see how they play without Ashley. They're still very talented, but that has to hurt.
I forgot all about Ashley being out. I'll switch mine to MSU. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Syracuse, Duke, Michigan State, Wichita State. I wanted to be different. Edit: Forgot about the Ashley injury so sub Michigan State for Arizona. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
I might be wrong (certainly wouldn't be the first time), but I think the NCAA still allows schools to count scholarships back for mid-year enrollees. So if you only brought 20 kids in the previous year, give out 30 scholarships this year, and 5 kids enroll in January then you're good. I believe IU gave a few scholarships to walkons last season, plus the 20ish kids that joined the program so that's why we're locked in at 25. Like I said, I may be 100% wrong on this, but I read it somewhere on the interwebs
I'm not sure either but that's the most reasonable thing I've come by yet.
True Hoosier I was greeted the same way by the thought police who don't like someone who doesn't very carefully craft thoughtful criticisms of the team and coach that won't result in any players or coaches being sad. You will be called classless and demoted to the mean spirited minority. I really enjoy the youthful ignorance on display because someday life experience will help them self adjust. They didn't live through greatness like we did so they have no platform from which to understand RMK and the spirit of that era when we walked around all puffy chested because we were the ***** of the walk. They read about in a few books and heard stories but never bathed in Showalter fountain. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
What exactly are you talking about? Carefully crafted criticism? People say what they think and they don't sugarcoat it. Youthful ignorance and life experiences helping people adjust? Give me a break.
Don't you just hate when a player flips his commitment ONE DAY before Signing Day? Man, that's frustrating. Opens up another spot for some of the other guys we're going after, though.
I just wish kids would wait until they're done with all their visits. You see kids committing then go on 3 more visits and usually flip. Why not just wait and commit when you get done with the process. It baffles me. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Yeah, I love Utley, but he just has so many issues as of late. Same with Ryan Howard too. Glad they've stuck with those two, Hamels, Ruiz and Rollins to keep a solid base in the infield. And I definitely agree. My biggest issue with the team is the lack of young talent. Sure, we have Dom Brown, Darin Ruf (I see some potential to takeover for RH), and a couple of other guys, but the team just seems too old to me. Even the backups have been old in recent years... Brian Schneider, who I can't stand.
I'm tired of the old team too. RAJ refuses to believe he messed up and should have rebuilt. We destroyed our farm system a few years back and it still hasn't recovered. I do like the potential of Crawford, Franco, and Biddle. But I'm not too optimistic on much else. Our catching prospects are disappointing compared to what what were originally projected. I hope we trade off Lee (even though I love having him) to restock our farm. Edit: I too hate Pap.
I loved it to an extent. He performed better than pretty well any pitcher in Japan, he even performed better than Yu Darvish in some ways, although he's more projected to be a good 2 than an ace. I just didn't like giving that kind of contract, 7/155 is A LOT for someone that has never thrown a pitch in MLB. He was a player I really wanted though because they needed rotation help (and the FA options weren't as good and just as expensive) and he's young, and I liked that they took a chance on a Japanese player because they were tentative after they missed with Kei Igawa (which is they're own fault, he sucked over there too). So basically I loved it except for the size of the contract. Unfortunately it's going to be that way now for players like him because the new posting system makes it so many teams can negotiate instead of one team throwing a mountain of un-taxable cash for sole negotiating rights (ala Darvish).
I wanted the Phillies to pursue him but we aren't in the position to compete so I'm glad we didn't get him. I think Tanaka will be a good get but like you said I'm not a fan of the contract he got. I'm not used to seeing other phillie fans. I'm a huge Utley fan hence the 26 next to my name. Hopefully RAJ will get fired after this season, the man is clueless. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
