How much longer until Crean is on the hot seat?
Dalton26 replied to wsteele's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I don't think anyone is "satisfied," but to suggest someone be fired just one year after reaching consecutive Sweet 16s, which is no easy task, is insane.
I disagree. If we miss(probably will) the tournament this year he should be on it and if we miss again next year I think he should be gone. Call it quick on the trigger or whatever it may be but I want championships not sweet 16 rings. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
This shouldn't even be a discussion. Back-to-back sweet 16s. A little bit of a down year with a young team. Give it another 365 days and if we're in this same spot again, we can talk about this.
So you were satisfied with last years sweet 16? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Pathetic. Just pathetic. They better never allow the Olympics or any other worldwide event to be held in Russia again. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Indiana vs Minnesota Post Game Thread
Dalton26 replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I went out to a sports bar and grill and I was pissed because they didn't have the B1G network. So I followed the game on my phone but I can't really determine how we played from a phone. I'm just disappointed in the loss. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Prediction League Game 23 (Week 13) IU vs Minnesota (02/08/14)
Does anyone remember last years trip to the Barn? With a MUCH better team, i believe NUMBER ONE, and we lose. We will lose this game, dont want them to, and hope Im wayyyy wrong but we cant seem to win two in a row against anyone but Podunk U and Twister St!! This could be a whitewash, Hoosiers lose by 18
You do realize the point of this is to actually predict a score right? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
I think this would be a refreshing change. It would take the dollar signs out of kids' eyes as they tried to rush through their freshman years trying to learn to play like pros while competing in a completely different style of game. It would change the face of recruiting, too. So, professional basketball, while you're at it, why not raise the age limit to 22 or someone who has finished an accredited college degree in lieu of the age limit?
I don't like that one bit. A kid shouldn't have to get a degree in order to play in the NBA. Make them play in college, D League, or overseas longer all you want but under no circumstance should they require a kid to get a degree. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
I most certainly did not! Thought it looked like a lot like the difference between a mid-major and power conference. So, I picked B. The fact that everyone else picked A, was purely coincidental. Are there prizes?
Had you known it wasn't a mid major would you have made the same choice?
Its probably not to every-bodies cup of tea, but its a great conversation for those of us that are interested.
Like I said earlier I love history but I'm not knowledgable enough in Euro history to add much to the discussion. I know quite a bit about American history and I could probably jump in there but with euro I've got a bit of learning to do. It does amaze me how distorted some things taught in history classes are. I've heard people say "it's history, it's done and over". I've always believed if you forget your history you can't better your future or are doomed to repeat it.
Completely agreed. I was not interested in it during High School. All it was then is dates and events. I started watching the History Channel when I came home completely tore up (yeah I was young) and I started watching their documentaries and stuff like Brad Meltzer's Decoded. I enjoyed it so much more. Then I took some courses in college and it was so different. You got the back story of things leading to the events. It almost seemed that was more important to know than the events themselves, because you already knew the main events. I am the type of person who enjoys the intricate details of things. Seriously though, if I was quizzed on US History I would do ok, but I am so much better with Euro History. Sad to say, but so many more interesting events in Europe and Asia.
I'm the opposite. I love all history but I'm better with US history. Haha Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
As do I. If women knew some of the history of Valentine's day they might not find it so romantic. I hated history in school, but now there's a lot that I like learning about
I liked it in school but it's not on the same level as it is post-school. I've learned 10x as much since I've been out of school. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
You said no one who has been caught will get in, Big Roidi has been caught and will get in. That was the point. Why will he get in? The people that vote for him are all "OMG. Big Papi! Lovable, gritty, clutch, derp". Even though his career is built off steroids and Fenway being a joke of a stadium. And it will piss me off because Edgar Martinez, the best DH in baseball history, isn't in the Hall because he was a DH and other players that were the best players in the league without roids won't be in (Clemens, Bonds, etc). The same fools that will vote for him made excuses when he went full roid rage and destroyed another team's property sending shrapnel in the direction of his teammates, and threw his elbow pad at the ump which he was never punished for. And Selig will be there shaking his hand, just because he's the clown that turned a blind eye to steroid use when it put fans in the seats and now wants to make it look like he's concerned for the integrity of the game.
I wish I could like this 10 times. Purdue over Mini in 3 OT - good or bad for us?
Dalton26 replied to incrediboy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I would rather have Minnesota win. It put Purdue farther back and then us beating Minnesota will look better with that additional win. I don't think their loss helped us in any way. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
uhh...yes...Purdue is below us, Minney is tied with us...what the hell is your problem?
Thats the point. If they look better going into our game and we beat them that makes us look better. I don't get why you'd want them to look worse right before playing us.
To be fair, Oladipo's work ethic was almost other-worldly. It would be hard to find anyone with his work ethic. That said, I believe Troy Williams has a fine work ethic. Missing the 3 ball with Hulls and I think his leadership could persuade other players to work as much as he does which is needed with a young team.
