If nothing would’ve changed then why does it matter so much to you? If you think losing PG for nothing instead of getting Vic would’ve been the same or better then I give up. Lol Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Because like I already said, if they didnt trade him they wouldnt have got anything for him when he left in free agency. They would have been worse than what they were. They also got their current starting center and 2 first round draft picks in the Howard trade, while Howard is now on his 4th different team since leaving Orlando. The 76ers is a horrible example because they had already started their tanking process, they got exactly what they wanted. The Celtics trade was bad but got even worse because KG and PP didnt work out in Brooklyn. Those picks wouldnt have been that good if Brooklyn lived up to expectations that was expected when they made that trade. They have no rules to effect that trade now either, the rule says you cant trade first round picks in back to back seasons and Brooklyn didn't so it would still be allowed.

The league can veto anything that may violate the salary cap or the CBA. The league could easily find something in almost any trade to veto it if they really wanted to, they could just say a trade violated the competitiveness/integrity of the league and veto it because that would violate the CBA. The Paul veto didnt even have anything to do with where he was going or who was coming back. The league did own the Hornets but the Veto had more to do with the GM working out the trade without prior permission from the league. Jason Kidd to the Mavs took 3 attempts because first the league stepped in and said they couldnt trade George because of him re-signing under the CBA rules at the time under his bird rights, on the second attempt Stackhouse came out and said he would just get bought out and return to the Mavs and the league again stepped in and stopped the trade.(which is why that is now a rule in the CBA that a bought out player cant return to the team that traded him) They absolutely would have allowed those two trades to happen, two teams got something for players that were going to leave instead of getting nothing. There is no way the league would've stepped in to veto those trades.

They can do that in any trade actually. The difference is KD was a free agent, Chris Paul wasn’t.

Musselman had 20ish years in the NBA as a coach so I think that is probably the draw for these kids.

Two 5 Star Recruits in Same Class?

I wasnt trying to say they didnt recruit talented players at all, they do but they get a good mix between 5 and 4 stars unlike UK who tries to fill their class out of the top 10. That was my whole argument, for the levels of success both school have had I'll take the Nova recruiting format and more success like them everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

Two 5 Star Recruits in Same Class?

I dont think they'd be as high as you expect. Just pulled the averages for that same time period I used before and their average is just as close to ours as it is to Kentucky. From 14-18 UK had an average of 98.97, Nova 95.44, and IU 91.59. IU's classes also include Gelon in 16, and Priller, April, Hoetzel(all 360 or lower in the rankings) in 14 which dramatically drag down their classes averages. The difference between IU and Nova in averages is 3.85 which drops to 2.38 without those four sub 360 ranked players, while the gap between UK and Nova is 3.53. Leaving in the guys that dramatically drag down IU's two classes the difference from IU/Nova to Nova/UK is .32 closer between UK/Nova, while taking them out puts the difference at 1.15 in favor of IU/Nova being more similar. While I understand you cant just take players out, at the same time Nova's recruiting outside of Creans insanely stupid offers to non-d1 players is more on Par with IU than UK.

Two 5 Star Recruits in Same Class?

    Just did a little more checking on their last 5 recruiting classes: 2014 - UK #2 / Nova #48 2015 - UK #1 / Nova #29 2016 - UK #2 / Nova #45 2017 - UK #2 / Nova #28 2018 - UK #2 / Nova #16 I'll take the lesser Nova style of recruiting all day every day with their success in that same period of time.

Two 5 Star Recruits in Same Class?

I'd rather recruit a little worse than Kentucky and have more national championships to show for it like Villanova. Those stats you mention look nice but when youre wanting us to recruit at the level of UK which normally has either the best or second best collection of talent you for damn sure better have more than 1 natty.

A perfect explanation of this imo came from one of my old basketball coaches and an admitted MJ fan. If they were playing one on one he said he'd take LeBron, if you were giving them each 4 of the exact same teammates he'd take MJ. His reasoning was 1 on 1 he thought LeBron was the better player, while as a team he thought MJ made those around him better than LeBron does.

In todays league almost all stars are floppers, its a product of the environment. Youre crazy if you dont think Jordan would be doing the same thing if he played right now. The players play the way the referees officiate, if it gets rewarded why would you not do it? Not to mention as someone mentioned before, LeBron is so big and strong if he didnt flop he'd never get a call. Shaq had the same issue that he would get hammered and never get a call because he was big and strong enough to go through the contact. I'm not a fan of LeBron but in my eyes there is no question he is the best player in the world today, and probably the best player of all time.

K looks bad with the way he reacted but I’ll never understand parents acting that way either when their child doesn’t get the playing time they think he deserves.

Those guys from Danny Ainge down to the Dr at Harvard saved that mans life. Very glad he was able to finally deal with it head on and start his own healing. Hopefully others that have/had those same kind of issues use him as a guide, and do what he did to get himself better.
