Just curious what other top P4 programs recently hired tier 1 candidates. The trend has been to get the next shiny thing and hope they become great. You may be aware of some schools I am missing though. BM would match that model a bit better than BB. Dusty last year was a much shinier option unfortunately

Or the ones who trash the AD who is the midst of a search that has been kept extremely quiet because a writer tweets that we are picking the least likely candidate. At least with Isaac, we can kind of laugh at his outrageous timelines. With the way people panicked and trashed Dolson today I would ask which is more damaging to peace on the board? Let it play out. If like past hires, we can panic and trash the AD and program then. Or maybe just accept we have fallen to unexpected lows. OR, Dolson makes a hire we can be excited about and finally have real hope. Let it play out.

Maybe I missed it but it seemed half the questions/comments to the 2 from the committee were congratulatory on completing the bracket. I mean Seth had a good example for IU with our record vs UNC and they did not bring that up directly. Soft questions.

They are all looking pretty good right now. Hopefully hiring a very good to great experienced college coach with our resources will yield similar or better results

Many were told to zip it. He said news would come after our season. Sounds like he is keeping the zip ask and his timing or candidate must not have changed. All those clamoring for him to chime are basically like kids asking “are we there yet?”

Remember after we told on ourselves then self penalized? It seemed the common theme after that was to not jump on the sword so quickly. I can remember a lot of arguments saying to deny and make them prove it. I trust @Demo to some extent on this as he said he was a big fan until this episode. Still, Pearl was considered untouchable for awhile thus his stent at USI and then he once again cut corners at Tennessee and was fired yet many have him on their wish list. Then we have Sampson. He came in tarnished and kept on cheating. But, after IU he has seemingly been clean. Maybe people can learn. If we get down to the bottom of the list and if Dolson can have a plan to keep him in line I would be in favor. Would prefer a cheat and a liar (to the NCAA) over other blemishes.

@BGleas if I remember correctly you played Bball at the D2 level right? What are your thoughts about McCollum making a jump from D2 to Drake to a P4 school? I watched his game against Duke on YouTube yesterday and was impressed with how his D2 team played.
