  1. I know it is DD but did Woodson just kind of blow by Pat in the handshake line or was there something else? As much as Woody was back in town and close to RMK I cannot believe he would not know who Pat was. Not defending Woody here at all but curious as to why this is even being discussed unless it is just DD spouting.

Stopped at a restaurant while in Denver tonight and found 3 other tables with IU grads. Small place but great to see so many other grads/fans out repping IU.
  3. Just an incredible finish based on how the year started. now lets really finish
  4. In ‘87 a friend and I borrowed his uncles camper and drove up to East Lansing to watch AT and IU win the BT. Somehow we were able to park the RV at a sorority (met some girls in Florida for spring break and they got that cleared). Nice crisp fall day, great weekend hanging with them but they manhandled us. The girls made sure to let ever know we were Hoosiers. Still mad about that game. We did not even seem to put up a fight. Still that was a great team and a pretty fun weekend. I hope whoever is playing younger me this weekend and makes that road trip in uncle’s RV gets to see a big win!

    IU Women's Soccer

Following the successful lower level/Cig path might be a good idea. Here is a short list of a few people/programs we came became familar with. Don't let the school name fool you, they have been one of the best D2 programs - Kevin Fickes - Women's Soccer Coach - Colorado School of Mines Athletics. They have been strong D2 program consistently. Another regular in the D2 NCAAs is Jay Entlich - Head Coach - Women's Soccer Coaches - Columbus State University Athletics. At the NAIA level, which the top NAIA teams compare well to D2 you have Steve Hamilton - Women's Soccer Coach - University of the Cumberlands Athletics. We got a good long look at Hamilton's Cumberlands program with several visits, calls with him etc. He has been building that program year after year with a combination of internationals and top players in the US. 6. Carlyle did hit our first 3 though. Hopefully he can find more comfort and hit a lot of those even if not a starter. We need guys willing to shoot the 3 and hit them
  7. I agree. This is an important year for the Woodson staff and although 1 preseason exhibition game will not tell the entire story it is the first chapter. We have a very strong team on paper and it is time to see that strength on the court.
  8. ok i do not have the "you have access..." comment Edit: after logging into my provider then clicking on this i get the good news that I have access, nice!
  9. Ironically i have disney and hulu and can log into the page link I sent but since nothing is playing now i cannot tell if I have access. Will check at 3pm when the next thing is on and see
  10. SEC Network + - Videos - Watch ESPN scroll down to IU - Tenn I am not a subscriber. Is there a cheap way to watch just this game?

    IUFB Offseason Updates

I like that we are targeting big time WRs. I know Rourke gets a lot of credit for great QB play but our WRs are strong. Those back shoulder throws are impressive but equally impressive is the ability of the WR to turn his body while running to catch it. I have not seen a drop stat for our WRs but it has to be very low as they seem to catch everything.
  12. Dang. All these years and I did not know this. I have usually been too cheap (I like to keep my cash for when a kid tells me last second they need $ for something at school lol) to pay for parking and have walked pretty far over the years.

    (2026) - SG Gabe Sularski

The trouble is what defines a mediocre season? 1) If you determine that based on our success over the last 5 years or so, then the bar is much lower. 2) If you determine that based on what Woody has stated, BT and national championship contenders, then that bar is much higher. Given the roster we have, the NIL $ Woody had access to, we should be closer to #2. But like last year, Woody seemed pleased with what he has done as coach whereas most on here did not agree. I would think a top 4 BT finish (if lower, then finals of BTT) and a minimum sweet 16 in NCAA tournament. Hopefully that punch list includes high expectations for on court results.
  14. He may end up being great but to be fair he was the lowest ranked of the kids we were after who made decisions this fall. Hopefully he proves to be as good as those kids we skip over but go elsewhere and we all regret it.
  15. So, have you heard how those people who gave money and wanted Mullins might be interpreting their ROI? Woody did land a strong portal team and maybe they overlook the HS misses but if we had the better financial package for a local kid and lost out it does say we might not be an attractive enough school for top HS talent.
  16. What would have changed coaching wise at this point?
  17. Was it you that mentioned something about the NIL$ being for this year but there were expectations that we land a strong HS class. If true, and it seems less likely unless we luck into some decommits again, who placed that expectation on woody and what do you hear about that.

Any idea where we rank on NIL and staff salary? I think those will be just as important to keep on par.

This is true. I had a couple kids recruited at a lower level and their experience matches yours. Other kids they played with went D1 and they too had the same experience. You may really think option 1 is absolutely where you until you learn something you had not considered before. We had one coach that encouraged my daughter to visit just "so she knew what she was saying no to". She was torn between 2 schools, and I was wanting her to visit yet another school. She had her rankings which would move around some, but late in the process there was a coaching change at a school we had eliminated before. Suddenly the new coach calls, we schedule a visit, and it became obvious they were the best fit. This process is like a timeline. Along that timeline, the kid, his parents, even coaches may be convinced they are going to go to school x but so many things can impact that timeline. Things you never thought of that you learn as you gather information can change things once considered a lock.

Thanks for the background. I only listened to the podcast but wondered who the person was who was interviewing Cigs. 2 degrees from IU, president of Cook since 2013 and has been actively involved in "start-ups". If the $3B net worth is accurate, and he has some friends in that range he may just be the perfect guy to have involved. He is even good running the podcast but it seems he has a background doing that as well. Certainly, feeling better about Cigs answer to his question.

It was good to hear him say that but, I am sure there are some people who heard some similar things from him about JMU. It is going to take a pay raise for him and his staff plus a bigger commitment to NIL than we have now to keep SEC programs from snatching him. It is possible that happens here but those are big time investments in a program that would be new to IU. Some will say that he would have to compete against some of the best college football programs weekly in the SEC but taking the IU job and expecting to compete against OSU, Michigan, PSU, Oregon is no cake walk. I don't see that being something that will scare him away. It will come down to whether we are willing to invest in the football program to make sure he continues to feel that we have "unlimited potential".
  22. A big year is needed on the court for a lot of reasons.
  23. Murray was with Mack at L'ville before though and they did not have success. Other than arriving at the same time they started having success there more to the story?
  24. So when he went to Kentucky did the plan fall apart then? I am not following how those posts were truly a big deal unless you are saying that missing Malachi killed the dream. That could be but then I wonder why Sisley committed. I had thought he wanted to go here IF others came with him.
  25. Chris's buddy Tyme mentioned that Hurley really was not the mastermind of the success, but his OC was. I thought Tyme also indicated that perhaps this coach has moved on but looking at their staff I think it is intact. Ignoring Tyme for the moment, any idea if Uconn lost an assistant coach this offseason? Any thoughts on whether that could impact their success? If I am a kid considering them, unless the assistant was the primary recruiter, this is probably not something i worry about.
