Looks like we fired Archie on Mar 15. Brad Stevens says he is a "masshole" on Mar 19. We hire Woody on Mar 28. So that may support your theory but I just looked back at a text with a friend of mine who is Woody's relative. This relative was prominantly sitting behind the bench often, so often i would usually give him a hard time about what he wore lol. That text was on Mar 23 and I asked if Woody was coming to IU. He said he thought it was a done deal but some surprise "deal" with Matta came up and everyone is upset. So, from 3/19 to 3/23 seems to be the window here even though the deal was finalized on 3/28.

He still needs to listen to the scout. We have been better since Illinois but too deep of a hole and better does not equal good as we should be. Credit though to the team and coaches for a big win on the road against a strong team. I kind of wish i would have been interested enough to watch it

Any thoughts on Tommy Lloyd? Yeah I know he is going to go back to the Zags or he gets paid a lot there but I wondered how their NIL was if Ballo left. Relatively new as HC but at a P5 school he has done very well

Interesting. A friend's daugher plays for him at BSU so I will reach out. I know the assistant coach there checked in with my daughter but he knew her from club and she is down a level from D1. We knew a few girls who went there but like you said it does not say powerhouse on paper. Hopefully it turns out better that it might seem. Update: they did not mind the coach but she noted they struggled this year finishing 11th. Had hoped for a “he is great and …” but did not get anything pro or con. Hopefully he has great instate club connections because the prior staff did not.

Time for a "that's crazy, my family and i are really happy here in Boston" comments - not that i believe that but would cool the jets for a bit

I can agree that part of me wants a cooler looking/acting coach after Crean, Archie and Woody (who is cooler but like a grandpa). Find me the cool guy who will regularly compete for a championship. How hard can that be lol

Dont disagree, just looking for more material on the reason for the "low" buyout. I did look up Kelsey's at L'ville and it seems to be around $8.7 million after 1 year so in comparison his is indeed lower. Still would love to know it was fully driven by May for another look at IU

Sure but when negotiating these, the school can argue for a lower #2 and the coach can argue for a lower #1. If a school insists on a low #2 the coach will do the same and argue for a low #1 and vice versa. So i see them as all part of the negotiations.

I have been asking this same question and have not gotten an answer. Michigan may have had that low because he was not a sure fire guy at this level and wanted an offramp if he could not reproduce the FAU results.

I know you worked for the C's and likely still have connections there. Seeing how you have been definitive in your responses makes me wonder if you are getting this directly from BS or his family. IF the Chris version of last time is correct, I don't think Brad would have discussed this with anyone within the Celtics organization during the process. I have changed jobs 6 times and I keep all those discussions private until I have accepted a job and past the background checks. Clearly you have heard something that suggests a different version occured. Did BS have any discussions with IU? Generally curious to hear your side beyond just saying the other version did not happen.
