I think if we go young fella/up and comer we (me included) are hopefully going to be able to ride ups and downs better. Painter, Collins, Hoiberg took a little time to get things rolling.

It was not just today. I have been watching them a lot the last few weeks. Several wins but in most they had to pull away late against teams they were supposed to beat. Not saying he isn’t great but if you have been watching their last 8 or so games it does make you wonder.

Dusty and FAU have not really looked that good the last few weeks. Not just the loss tonight but I have been watching them the last few weeks and they have won several games but few have been decisive. They have fallen out of the top 25 a week or so ago. Not a bad team but are we sure Dusty is the guy?

I agree that first part would have been great but some would have taken exception to him telling them they need to get on the bus. "Who the **ll is he to tell us which bus to get on?" Well in some cases maybe that applies. We were told often there would be a mass exodus of players because Woody has lost the players. Maybe there will be an exodus or maybe Leal and the players know better and there wont. Several on here went after X hard. He should have been kicked off the team, he is terrible etc. Maybe Leal sees what he brings and knows better. I am not bothered by the fact that the 7th - 10th player on the roster sticks up for his coach and tells us to chill.

If you look at this photo someone else posted there are actually 2 options for MR besides the one he chose - to drive. KW has great post position and should be option 1 but sneaky little Leal is in a great spot for a back cut and with Ware sealing his man he might have had an easy layup

I just can't figure MR out. It really seemed like the staff thought he would be the guy this year and put Ware on kind of a 2nd or 3rd tier at times. MR has had some really big games but there are so many times he just does things that kill an opportunity. Seems like a great kid but I worry if Woody is back he will be relying too much on MR (like they did with X this year).

I agree. Does not dismiss concerns about the long term trajectory of the program but 5 wins in a row with the 2 at home vs Wis and MSU is still something to take notice of. We also seem to move the ball a little better and have been looking for the 3 a little more.

Didnt he then go on to say what they intended to do? It was intended for X. I think there are several other things to be concerened about but I don't think his comments here were concerning at all.

Anyone seeing anything about Amir Abdul Rahim and potentially moving up? He is doing a really good job, yet again, here with USF and has his team sitting ahead of FAU in the conference. He brought in some cupcake to Bloomington and nearly beat us but I forgot he landed here at USF. Hoping he stays so I can have a team to follow down in FL

It seems the plan is that they have better contacts with agents now plus more NIL $ and are confident they are going to land even better players from the portal. Woodson and the staff have had success with these short term recruitments but has not had success evaluating his teams needs. So I think there will be a plan presented and unless they get into the weeds on which positions, which style of play and how to build long-term Woody will be able to show enough for next year not to get fired. Dolson has to look past the short term side of this and evaluate the long term health of the basketball team.

And if he is not and wants to make a change, and if he is a good AD, he does not need consensus but will get it like all good ADs do but they wont vote it will just be a subtle head nod or something. Then we go and look for the next great coach but as a good AD, or maybe his isnt really so he cannot make the hire on his own really, but there is no consensus or voting on the next hire. If he was a good AD he would just be able to hire his guy but the BOT does not think he is a good AD so they will offer suggestions and they will not vote again but will do a sublte hand wave this time, so as not to be confusing with the head nod not vote to make a coaching change. Simple

Would be crazy if true and he did not have good reason to not speak to them. Especially since RMK and poppa Yeagley were pretty close. Those 2 used to play doubles together until one match where RMK got a little RMKish lol.

Exactly. If we have different expectations than the head coach then maybe we need to adjust but Woodson's own goals are to win Big Ten and National titles. Sure we cannot expect to win every one of those, but no BT titles in 3 years is falling short. We should not readjust our expectations if the staff fails to recruit well should we?
