(2017) PF Clifton Moore Jr. to IU

Not sure I agree about Hoetzel and Holt being good/great finds. Good/great finds not only need to exceed their ranking but they need to be good fits and for me that also means they hang around much longer

    Colts / NFL Game Thread

When a QB has to take his eyes off the receivers and DBs to watch for the rush his effectiveness drops. Sure he needs to have some awareness but you need to trust your play which includes the blocking and the receivers running the right route. There is not enough time to watch the rush and know where the holes in the defense are.
  3. I do not see Newkirk as an established starter for us yet so I guess my main point is that I would not view his position as a limitation to adding a highly ranked PG
  4. That could be true, and may be a more likely promise.
  5. I think there is evidence that Crean promises starting positions. Newkirk has not played a minute here and likely did not receive a promise to start. So it seems more probable to me that Waters would start over Newkirk.
  6. Indiana has mastered the "say the right thing" - but for me I will see maturity when JBj gives great effort on D.
  7. Why not? MSU has had quite a bit more success than PU and IU combined under Izzo
  8. Talking to and signing are different. Did we not talk to a lot of top kids when we were down? I was pretty sure we whiffed on a lot of top guys and settled. I am hopeful that job security and coming off a pretty good year will help get some of these kids signed.

(2017) SF Justin Smith to IU

Wait, OG barely took a look from what I remember. I don't think he was close to leaving at all but would be curious if there is something credible to show me otherwise.
  10. He may be looking to get some others interested, or more interested. I thought I read a Duke commit is playing there too
  11. If the picture does not work check Twitter - Doyel confirms he has told his teammates
  12. Scruggs transferring to a prep school in California. This probably does not help us over all. Interesting though.

    I'm worried about in-state recruiting.

I agree. I thin continued success is the primary factor. If there is some issue with the HS coaches then even success may not change much. I think we are on the cusp of continued success and so the next few years could really swing recruiting in state

    I'm worried about in-state recruiting.

I keep hearing about how we are in really good shape with some class two years out that is stacked. It seems like every other year there is a great class out there. Except for the movement none of these "future classes" have really not yielded much for Indiana. To Creans credit, he has done really well in other places but while it is not mandatory I like getting kids form the state. Pap answered part of my question about whether Crean may not be connecting well with in state coaches (seems only a few noisy coaches may be the issue). I still wonder if we, or any coaches now a days, hold HS coaches clinics.

    I'm worried about in-state recruiting.

Baltimore's list may be distracting from a good point to discuss -that being does Crean has an in state issue with some HS coaches. I have to admit that we have missed on a few kids that seem to be good character kids. I think that may be as much related to inconsistent on court performance but it does make me wonder if there is some truth to this. Does anyone know if Crean has coaches clinics like RMK used to have? The 2017 class in Indiana will hopefully reveal that we can recruit and land the best in this state. But if not, it is hard not to wonder.

    I'm worried about in-state recruiting.

Become more consistent, advance past sweet sixteen and then we have less of an issue recruiting anywhere.

    Vermont @ UNC

I generally would disagree but if it hurts Duke and UNC maybe I have to rethink this

I'm ready for 2016 IU Football

Thanks it will probably be a decision made the week of the game.

I'm ready for 2016 IU Football

Hoping to get down for my first game in a long time. Any suggestions on where to get tickets for the Nebraska game? Hoping to get about 6 together otherwise I might scalp
  20. I think OG will have a better year this year than last year but he will be back for his junior year. He was not a marked man at all last year and was able to surprise a lot of us. But the gap between that and getting drafted in the lottery (why go if not) is very big. I would still be very pleased if he can become a 10 and 6 guy but I am not sure that gets you into the lottery.
  21. They have had a pretty good string of coaches recently though.

Troy Williams - Taiwan Beer (Taiwan Super League)

Consistently or defense will be needed to stay around. He needs to have improved in one of those areas

I am in the energy business. Has been a great area but with some of the renewable push and crude prices falling the industry has taken some hits. Still I would recommend it. Anyone have any energy industry questions let me know. If any of you are fuel buyers with your current company send me a pm.
  24. If Wilkes waits till spring the he can't be the big fish the get the ball rolling. We need it to roll quicker so hopefully someone else can get it going. We have not really gotten many of the top Indiana kids in the same class since the movement. Would really be nice to grab a two or three this year since this is such a strong IN class
