This kind of feels a bit like the lose out on Trey Lyles but somehow land Noah recruitment.

For me, OG is down the list for why I think this team could be really good. TB, a key starter from last years team is back. He played well against some good bigs last year and played well over a lot of minutes. JBj has to have a good year for us to be really good. A great year and we finally break though the sweet sixteen. RoJo should hopefully become that steady, more consistent player on both offense and defense. If RoJo can protect the ball and bump his scoring up a few more buckets/game then we will be a tough team to beat. OG, if he can become a starter or 6th man and continue his play over extended minutes (like vs UK) then again we become hard to beat. I think TB, and either JBj or RoJo need to have a pretty good bump up from last year for us to be great. If they are basically the same players as last year we would need OG to be all big ten just to be good.

We have a new DC so maybe it came with him. I am pretty sure in the past we may have thought we were still signals but the way we played we just misinterpreted a yawn.

To be fair, in 2 of his 3 years at UCLA Alford has gotten them to the sweet 16.

Luck played better when he had the freedom to run as things broke down. He has also lost a lot of offensive coordinators and QB coaches his first few years. If things stabilize and he judiciously adds the run escape he will be alright.

Would there be a time when the staff would not push for a headliner? Even if you get one headliner I think you push for another. Or is this a case where they are close with a headliner and are pushing him to make a decision more sa than normal

I may be misremembering but while Suds had some great stretches he has some slides/down stretches too right.

I think you can question things and not freak out. Prior years we were not sitting in such a position of strength as we are now. Plus so many had said we were in really good shape with the 2017 class.

This is a good point. Judging just based on commits vs official visits does not reflect the energy and time committed to many others who may never get to campus. That time and energy could have been directed to others. Crean is a tireless worker - no doubts about that.

Going to have concerns at some point right? We should be at a recruiting peak right now. BT champs. Several guys to the NBA recently. A lot of guys likely gone next year. Playing time looks favorable for about all positions except maybe wing and yet Crean always has a lot of wings. 2017 is loaded class so with that and our recruiting strength we should start having commitments from our top choices.
