The difference between CuJo and really anyone on our roster is that CuJo can create separation with his defender to get a shot. Now the majority of the shot clock he is not as productive but he is probably the only guy that can get a pretty clean shot off. So far these shots, except vs Kansas, have not gone in but if he starts to find a rhythm he may really be hard to guard.

I agree. Where we lack 5 star talent we hopefully make up for it with senior 4 star talent. If Archie can get Creans guys to buy in then we can have a very good year

This is the seismic change we heard about.

Torn ACL. Out for the season. -
The way New England turns one teams junk into gold probably won't help. With Julian out Dorset may become a star there.

I guess you could argue that Isaiah had the benefit of Witman, Landon, Ray and Kitchel. Isaiah joined a strong program with a HOF coach whereas Cody joined a much different team, could have gone anywhere, and along with Vic he led a team that could have won it all. Give them a HOF coach and maybe the results are similar. Now I do agree that Isaiah was something special. He was my favorite player as a kid and one of the key reasons I became a fan. I definitely put him well ahead of Cody but I think when a guy who could go anywhere but comes to a team at the bottom of the standings and helps lead them to where he got us sounds like a transcendent player. -

We went from bottom feeder to one of the best teams in the country. He was the primary reason and yogi largely committed because of him. Now one guy can't sustain success for a program after they leave but they can help a team quickly go from the bottom to the top. Once you get to the top it should be easier to stay near the top. I think Zeller fits this. The fact we fell off after he left is why Crean was let go. -

I think we should look at Arizona as something to expect here. If so, Sean has had 3 of 5 classes ranked in the top 3. https://www.azdesertswarm.com/platform/amp/basketball/2017/5/31/15716444/arizona-wildcats-basketball-recruiting-class-updates-marvin-bagley-brandon-williams-bol-sean-miller -
Remember when Davis took over and suddenly Coverdale became a big time player? He could not get on the court with RMK and then boom he is a key player on our FF team. I would not be surprised to see someone have a similar jump in value this time around. Maybe not as big as Coverdales jump was but big nonetheless. Thus when I read that this guy will or that guy will be key for us this year, I am hopeful that we have a few guys we don't mention much have breakout years. The Morgan and CuJo talk may be some of this and hopefully we have a few pleasant surprises once the team starts to play.

Heard Don Fischer on the radio this afternoon and he mentioned that the coaches wanted him to get tougher. To learn to compete for balls in the air rather than wait for them to come to him. Fisch mentioned that putting him on ST may have been the coaches attempt at getting this out of him. -

Gotcha that is different from what I thought and is a pretty good sign. Thanks for the clarity -

My comment here was a bit snarky. AK made this comment "Sounds like Sunday's visit was huge for TJD. He basically went down to Btown as a personal visit to hang with friends, but ended up calling the staff". My response was that since his Dad was with him on the visit then it was probably a little more planned ahead of time. Then you responded that it was not his Dad but his Stepdad which elicited my "oh that changes things" snarky comment. I could be wrong, and it is not that big a deal, but if his Stepdad was with him on the unofficial visit then I doubt he and his Stepdad were just hanging out with his friends and decided to stop by the bball offices. -

I thought his Dad was with him. If so I think it was a little more than a "hey pops and I are in town" thing -

So it is hard to compare. 2009 Crean had a full year to recruit. Archie has had a couple of months. Can't compare to creans 2008 because that was a mess but not fair to compare 2009 to this class. -

I feel Romeo commits to IU then we cannot go back to the app.

This is my thought. A lot of times docs feel pretty confident about a kid who still has some growing in him. That could be the case here and might suggest they think he is going to be more valuable in a couple of years. -
RoJo? With RoJo, Newkirk and Hartman you have three of your top 7 being seniors that have played a lot. I wonder how those three compare to other teams upperclassmen
-
Do they have anything similar for upperclassmen? I admit I would have thought we had more top 25 guys. I assume we have more contributors who are upperclassmen but I wonder if I am wrong on that too
