Why can't our guys smile a little though? A little sly grin or something besides those expressionless looks. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

To be fair - yogi had a strong freshman year then was kind of meh as a leader until Blackman got injured and Dakich called his D and effort out on TV. That seemed to light a fire with him and he finished out strong. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Bruiser Flint, current IU assistant, was on Caliparis staff at UMass. Heck even Archie and the Miller family are very close to Calipari. I think we dodged a bullet Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

The path has changed. I believe now that with Archie he would have followed the Sean route. I suspect with Vandy, Kansas being the other finalists and Romeo having also been interested in Louisville it seems clear we were willing to recruit in a similar manner. Now that Archie can see directly the impact on his brother I think we change. Not sure if Vandy or Kansas do as well but I think we were probably willing to put money on the table before but I suspect we are not now. I also think we caught a bit of a break. Archie was not here long enough to do too much and he did not land any 5 stars yet so he may have been clear to date here. Good to be lucky in that regard. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
We may be looking at 5:30 and 6pm starts for IU if we switch tome zone

If we are in the central time zone it will be dark at 4pm in the afternoon during the winter. Lived in NW Indiana for a few years and hated that time zone. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

I suspect things happened prior and perhaps the coach was tired of the Brooks. A coach would not give that response about a star player unless the baggage > benefit. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Yeah and we have the bad performances when he has a game so he doesn't see it. We can send a game summary describing how we would have won if we had a scoring guard. Strategy. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

IU vs Northwestern 1/14/18 Game Thread
8bucks replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Top scorer plays 3 mins, no real bigs and we are up at half. This is why we wanted a coaching change. The goal is to win not to have a high powered offense but lose. If we only score 24 every half, maybe we can be concerned but we only gave up 19 points. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Final : Indiana 75 - Minnesota 71 | RoJo Career High
8bucks replied to Trish's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It would help him if he excelled at something. He is a good defender so that might be close but he would really help himself if he could become a double digit rebounder and he really will have to become a better 3pt shooter. His form from 3 is not bad so I have been waiting for him to hit some. If he could become a 38% or better shooter that would help Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Moore is tall but he really should not be considered one of our bigs. When he does play he spends more time on the perimeter than in side. Since he is not to far along as a wing he does not get much time. This is a good time for him to spend more time in practice being a big and focus on that for this year. Not sure if he has that desire or temperament though Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

To me Al is playing well ahead of where I expected and ahead of his ranking. He gets minutes 2 guys (cujo when here and green) should get. He plays pretty good defensively and never seems to panic out on the court. Not sure what you guys expected from a kid ranked in the 220s but I have been impressed. I wish Green CuJo had played well enough to have kept him off the court but they did not. So since he seems to be playing ahead of where his ranking suggested he would is pretty impressive. He is averaging more minutes than any of our freshmen and yet he came in at a position we had a lot of depth. Do I want him shooting a lot? No. Do I want him dribbling through traffic? No. Am i more comfortable with him guarding someone vs the sophomore guards we have? Yes. Glad he is getting minutes and I am hopeful those minutes pay off down the road. IU Football 2018 Recruiting Class

Curious to see if Ballou stays long in college. He has been a guy in demand and friends of the family thought his next move would be to the NFL. Getting back to IU and being close to home should help Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I had just about the same response ready to post the other day but did not get a chance to finish it. Glad you posted this. Dakich advocated for Alford but said it did not have to be him but what IU needed was someone that gets what you just said. He was really put off that when Crean was hired the blue ribbon panel did not talk to a single IU guy to get input. Now there might not be an obvious IU guy to come in and coach but there have been a ton of IU guys involved in high levels of basketball and they could have helped guide the process. Miller seems to say the right things and seems to be a guy who may fit that role but it is too early to tell right now. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Anyone know if Morgan will be able to graduate? He has had some big games this year but he has had several games where he just did not care to be out there. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I have been a supporter and if you read my complaint it was not about it being creans kids at all. My growing issue is Archie has been unable to get upperclassmen to play hard. Several games we have lost the guys have just been going through the motions but not competing like they did against Duke and ND. At some point he is rather going to get through to them, bench them or the fan base will begin to turn quickly. Not all the fans but people like me who have been arguing for him all year but am getting tired of watching IU lose because the other teams care more. This is going to turn quickly on Archie. He either needs to get through to the guys or sit them. That 2nd half last night was pathetic. Deron Davis was probably giving the most effort and he is not giving much. Watching Morgan casually move around and post with no effort drives me crazy. He moved with purpose only when Happ went out otherwise he seemed to accept that he was beat. Happ is great because of the effort the kid gives. Watch him cut quickly, decisively and make the defense work so hard to stop him then watch Morgan do the complete opposite. I expected Archie to get through to them but if they did not buy in then I would have expected him to sit them. The fact that he continues to play them is a concern for me. Considering that the Colts will have the number 1 non QB pick, I expect this pick to be a big time difference maker. Preferably an All Pro guy but if not, hopefully a perennial pro bowl guy. I hope they don't stretch for an offensive lineman who would otherwise go several spots lower. We have a lot of holes on this team and I would take the best available player. Best combination of talent, upside and character amongst the non QBs. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Can you make an argument that a potent running game takes pressure off Luck as well? Makes the play action something you have to respect. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
