Not saying I know anything but if your current prize recruit is struggling to play as hard as you want. Does benching him hurt your chances with other high end recruits? Can you risk that? Really glad to see Archie’s comments post game but he has to act on them. Fans need to see something different. Not sure who he is speaking of but are we ready if he benches Romeo? Can’t imagine it would be JoMo but what if he were benched. Do we want Archie to take a stand even if it sends a conflicting message to 5 star recruits? I agree. After that win at MSU, and a great road win that was, the team struggled every game. Losses to teams we should not have lost to and the wins were unimpressive (remember Temple). I think there is a rumor out there about Crean asking then asst coach Calbert to teach how his teams used to attack a zone. Cal worked on this then after presenting it to the team Crean made light of it and said basically well we aren’t going to do that. Calbert left after that year I believe. I agree. Today’s Morgan would have been a starter (Crean recruited him ha). Morgan at the beginning of last year may not have been Morgan is a great #2 or #3 guy on a strong team. I agree. Most of this exercise for me in this thread has been cathartic. I was pretty discouraged with what we have on paper after Romeo and JoMo leave but if those 4star guys develop, and buy in to Archie, then next year is not necessarily going to be worse. I tried to find it but could not. If you go back to his initial press conference or one of the early interviews Archie said it would take 3 years to install his defense. I have dislocated fingers before and it seemed to be that. The way he held it, the way the docs messed with it, his reaction and seemed to point to that. Then when he came back in he had 2 fingers taped together which is often what I had done. Gutty how he reached that hand into that mess to get that lose ball for the Romeo 3. I get frustrated watching guys struggle in games while others sit but I have to wonder if the guys playing are putting in more effort in practice. That is fine and logical but I was pretty pessimistic about who we could get given that Allen may not be around long if we don’t go bowling. Seems a risky chance to take which I thought would discourage great candidates. This hire seems, on paper, to be a great hire.
